Technology What is an Aspect Object?

 Aspect Objects are models of real world components


 Aspect Object is a virtual container for plant and process
object information
 Examples: valves, motors, computers, users, buildings,
…
 Aspect Objects can be placed in one or more places within
one or more structures in AIP
 Simple aspect objects contains a limited number of features
and data
 Composite aspect objects contains other aspect objects
 Data and information appending to the aspect object are
handled via aspects

an aspect object

 Aspects are assigned to an Aspect Object

 An aspect of the object provides the interaction with the object

 An aspect is an instance of an aspect category

 Example: aspect type Graphic Display includes the aspect
categories Graphic Display, Navigation Display, Object Display
