EMBEDDED SYSTEM
An embedded system is a computer system a
combination of a computer processor, computer
memory, and input/output peripheral devices, that has
a dedicated function within a larger mechanical or
electronic system.
AUTOMATIC FIRE
DETECTION AND ALARM
SYSTEM
INTRODUCTION
To detect fire in the area during the initial stage.

To alert occupants, so that they escape the building safely.

Summon trained personnel to take charge of controlling

the fire as quickly as possible.

To initiate automatic fire control and suppression system.

To support and supervise the fire

control and suppression system

CIRCUIT DESIGN
Connect Fire Sensor to NodeMCU:
•If using a digital fire sensor (like a flame sensor), connect its digital
output pin to any GPIO pin on the NodeMCU (e.g., D1).
•For an analog sensor (like a smoke sensor), connect its analog output
pin to an analog input pin on the NodeMCU
Connect Buzzer to NodeMCU:
 Connect the positive terminal of the buzzer to a GPIO pin on the
NodeMCU (e.g., D2).
 Connect the negative terminal of the buzzer to ground (GND).
Power Connections:
 Power the NodeMCU using a stable 3.3V power source.
 Connect the ground (GND) of the power source to the NodeMCU GND
pin.
Programming the NodeMCU:
 Use the Arduino IDE or any compatible IDE for programming
NodeMCU.
 Write code to read sensor data (analog or digital) and monitor
for fire detection.
WiFi Connectivity:

Wi-Fi network.
 Configure the NodeMCU to send notifications or alerts over Wi-
Fi when fire is detected.
Integration with IoT Platform (Optional):
 Integrate with IoT platforms such as Blynk, Thingspeak, or
MQTT brokers for remote monitoring and control.
• Send notifications or alerts to mobile devices or email
addresses when fire is detected
WORKING
 Fire alarm systems use automatic functions to detect the occurrence
of an event that may result in a fire.

 They receive a signal from a fire sensor (smoke, heat, or carbon

monoxide detector) and automatically transmit it to the fire alarm
panel.

In wireless systems, the signal from the detectors to the control panel
is transmitted with radio frequency. Heat detectors usually have built-
in thermistors to sense the heat.

 Carbon monoxide detectors use integrated chemical, electrochemical,

opto-chemical, or biomimetic cells to trace the gas.

Smoke detectors use photoelectricity or ionization to detect smoke or

 False Alarms.

 High Cost.

 Blinded by thick smoke , vapours grease and oil deposits on the

detectors window.

 Very sensitive ,which can lead to false alarms as a product of

cooking.
APPLICATION
1.Commercial Buildings: Offices, shopping centers, hotels, and
restaurants.
2.Industrial Facilities: Manufacturing plants, warehouses, and
factories.
3.Residential Buildings: Apartments, condominiums, and single-
family homes
4.Healthcare Facilities: Hospitals, nursing homes, and
clinics.
5.Data Centers: Server rooms and data storage facilities.
6.Military Bases: Military installations and
facilities.
7. Cultural and Entertainment Venues: Theaters, concert
halls, and sports stadiums.
CONCLUSION

"In conclusion, a reliable fire detection and alarm system is

a crucial component in ensuring the safety of people and
property. By promptly detecting and alerting individuals to
potential fires, these systems can help prevent devastating
losses and even save lives. With advancements in
technology, modern fire detection and alarm systems offer
enhanced accuracy, reliability, and functionality, making
them an essential investment for any building or facility. By
prioritizing fire safety and installing a high-quality fire
detection and alarm system, we can create a safer and
more secure environment for everyone."
