• Concentrate and keep your mind


focussed on what you are listening to
• Listen intently
• Get an overall view of the text – you do
not need to understand or memorize
every word
• When listening to oral text more than
once:-
- Identify the main ideas the first time
- Identify specific details, like numbers,
names etc
• Lean and apply the right listening skills
