Personality is a complex concept that deals with unique human behaviors, feelings, emotions, needs, interests, attitudes and cognitive processes. It is defined as an individual's total integrated behavior and stable patterns of thought and feeling. Personality is something unique to each individual and is the product of both heredity and environment, developing through learning and experience over time. Freud viewed personality as having three basic structures - the id, ego, and superego - which correspond to desire, reason, and conscience at different levels of consciousness.
