KNITNORTH

a great, easy little mod dress for your blythe.

Molly Dress blythe knit

By knitnorth (mary b)

SIZE 12" Blythe Doll NEEDLES: set of four 2.75 mm [US size #2] needles

WOOL: NOTIONS: Lang Jawoll sock yarn two doll sized buttons [75% superwash wool, sequins, beads 18% nylon,7% acrylic 206 [optional] yards per 50 gram ball] Fingering / 4 ply (14 wpi) I love Jawoll! It is a lighter weight than most sock yarns, which is great for doll clothes. The best thing about it is each skein includes a 5g spool of reinforcement thread ~ perfect to sew on buttons, sequins etc!

FINISHING Use yarn tail from bottom to sew the bottom 2 rows together. Weave in ends. Sew on 2 buttons to the top front edges (use the eyelet holes as button holes) If desired, sew on sequins and/or beads to skirt portion. Weave in ends. Block as desired.

TIP Make sure to give your dress a wash before you clothe your girl - you dont want dye from the wool dying your Blythe!

[k]not so short? pattern tweaking

By Knittygirlie

The original pattern makes for more of a long shirt or very very short dress. Fancy a longer dress?
Knittygirlies strawberry the original pattern makes for quite a mini dress (or a tunic length top). Knitttygirlies tweaks make for an oh-so-pretty demure summer dress

Knittygirlie has kindly allowed me to include her tweaks:

Follow the pattern above to the eyelet row. Repeat eyelet row 2 more times for a total of 3 eyelet rows. Knit 13 rows (instead of 10 rows) then continue with pattern as written . . .

I HIGHLY recommend blocking. Use a little soap/shampoo and water in the sink to get out any extra dye in the yarn to prevent it from staining your girl. Rinse well and blot with towel let dry on a white paper towel or napkin. This will show if there is any more dye bleeding out of garment. If so re-wash and rinse well till NO more color comes out. Let dry on white paper towel or napkin. Then add buttons, sequins, other embellishments Knittygirlie
