and fitness. The pyramid above is called the Physical Activity Pyramid.
C. Discussing Physical fitness is the ability of the body to function efficiently and effectively in work and leisure

new skills #1 Here are the indicators of a physically fit person.
Can bear physical activities for relatively long period without undue fatigue.
Can perform movements repeatedly for a long period without undue fatigue.
Can do work or play that involves exerting period, such as lifting or controlling one’s own body.
Has a relatively low but not too low, percentage of body fat.
Physical fitness includes health – related and skill – related physical fitness.
Health – related fitness refers to the aspects of physiological function that offer protection from diseases
resulting from inactive lifestyle. This can be achieved and maintained through regular participation in
physical activities.
1. Cardiovascular endurance – the ability of the heart and lungs to function efficiently over a
prolonged period of time.
Having a good cardiovascular fitness will help you decrease the level of stress, and remove

4. Flexibility – the ability to move your joints freely and without any pain through a wide range of
motion.
5. Body Composition – this refers to the distribution of lean and fat body tissues.
D. Discussing The Physical qualities that enable a person to perform motor skills needed in various sports are
new concepts called skill-related fitness components.
and practicing
new skills #2 This focuses more on performance of skills than good health.
1. Agility – the ability to change the direction of the body movement quickly and effectively. The
sports that require agility are basketball, football, dodge ball, and boxing.
2. Speed – the ability to move one’s body from one point top another in shortest possible time.

sports that require coordination.
5. Balance – then ability to maintain an intended stable body composition. Gymnastics is a sport
that requires balance.
