BEED III-2
Understanding the Lesson – Lesson 9
1. Jerry submitted to his Arts teacher a drawing titled “Fishes,” with only sea waves seen at
the bottom of the frame. When the teacher questioned the title because she could not see
any fish in the drawing, Jerry answered that they were under the water. If you were the
teacher, how would you react? Why?
I will be amazed to Jerry. Not all the students will be that imaginative. Maybe Jerry’s
mind is so creative that only he can see what is the true meaning of his artwork. Students
like Jerry have the potential to be one of the greatest minds in the world.
2. To illustrate the harm of drinking alcoholic drinks, Miss Cruz conducted a simple
illustration to the class. Using two beakers (one filled with alcohol and another filled with
water) and a beaker with earthworms, she asked the class to observe what happened to
the earthworms inside the beaker with water and to the earthworms in the beaker with
alcohol. After processing the experience, she asked the class what generalization could
they make about alcohol. The general consensus was if one drinks alcoholic drinks, he or
she would die. One, however, disagreed and claimed that if one drinks alcohol, all the
worms in the body would die. How was problem solving, creativity, and transfer of
learning working in this scenario? Explain.
In this scenario, the students are able to give assumption using only their observation.
The students make their hypothesis by imagination. So, they can think critically with
curiosity and that make them learn. Through thinking deeply to answer the questions to
their mind, the teacher transfers the learning to the students.
Bagsit, Kemuel G.
Gadgets make learning more interesting and provide access to various closed online
training platforms. Students, regardless of distances, can easily study in universities, or
on online courses or on other online platforms. A huge plus of online education is that
classes can be attended at any convenient TIME. By the way, students find the keyboard
more fun than standard writing using a conventional pen. Therefore, we can safely
conclude that modern technology makes learning funnier and more EXCITING. Most
students using smart phones can simultaneously solve several problems. For example,
during the lesson, the student can play the game and simultaneously listen to the teacher.
Or while travelling in the transport and communicating with friends/relatives listen to
music, that contributes to the development of multitasking. At the same time, studies
have shown that the use of gadgets during their studies does not affect their academic
performance.

Nowadays, technology is becoming very influential tool in this 21st Century. Because
majority of us, are using technology in our daily living. Especially for the younger
generations they are very in touch or active in using their gadgets most of the time. That
sometimes it become a destruction for them if they use it in the wrong way. But
technology provides great opportunities for making learning more effective for everyone
with their different needs. For us Future Teachers, Technology can also become an
opportunity that can help to improve our teaching skills where we can learn from a lot of
online resources. We can also use these technological tools to enhance the traditional
ways of teaching to be more enjoyable in order to encourage the students to have an
active participation. Thru technology we can also develop some essential skills for our
daily living because Modern Learning is about collaborating with others, to enhance our
critical thinking, to develop different forms of communications, can develop strategically
thinking on how to solve complex problem, to improve productivity and to be more
motivate and encourage.
Castillo, Marissa V.
As a future educator its very challenging for me to face the problem solving when the
learners are occupied and attached in using electronic gadget. But by the use of electronic
gadget it’s a big help for learners now a days. Because the advantages of gadgets in the
classroom are enormous. Their primary function is to enhance the learning experience for
both students and teachers through the use of computers and other electronic devices. The
use of gadgets, they can help students learn in a different way, which is why they should
be allowed in the classroom. And it gives them opportunities to explore the world outside
their classroom. So, with the used electronic gadget it can easily to teach at catch their
attentions.
