Sign Board Detection and Vehicle Speed Control System Using Osm

This document describes a sign board detection and vehicle speed control system using OpenStreetMap (OSM). The system uses a Raspberry Pi microcontroller interfaced with sensors to detect sign boards tagged in OSM and control a vehicle's speed. It analyzes the vehicle's GPS speed and restricts it if it exceeds the speed limit for the road section. When a speed limit or sign is detected, an audio alert is played for the driver. The system aims to automatically reduce speeds in restricted zones and alert drivers to sign boards to increase road safety. Future work may include integrating the system into smart transportation networks and disabling vehicle horns in prohibited areas.
