Quantiles GROUPED DATA

This document provides formulas for calculating quartiles, deciles, and percentiles from grouped data. The quartile formula is presented as Qk = LB + (kn/4 - cfp)i/fq, where k is the quartile number (1, 2, or 3), LB is the lower class boundary, cfp is the cumulative frequency before the quartile class, fq is the frequency of the quartile class, and i is the class interval. An example is shown to calculate the first quartile Q1 from a set of 50 test scores grouped into classes.
