(Steering Gear) TM-60 Check Procedure
(Steering Gear) TM-60 Check Procedure
2 Electrical operation check (Refer to Fig. 2 for the TM-60 wiring diagram.)
1) Check condition Steering Gear; Running
SGCS(Steering Gear Control System)/PILOT; Power ON
2) Switch SGCS to the NFU(Non Follow Up) mode and steer to PORT and STBD directions by a NFU
lever or switches.
3) Confirm the TM-60 CONTROL MOTOR LEVER moves smoothly and the voltage between TM1-TM2
of the TM-60 external terminals is in the range from 0 to ±24V DC.
4) Switch SGCS to the manual steering mode(Follow Up).
5) Confirm the voltage between LN1-LN2 of the TM-60 external terminals is in the range from 7.5V to
8.3V AC400Hz.
6) Confirm the voltage between LN3-LN4 of TM-60 external terminals is minimum value (40mV AC400Hz
or less) when the SERVO CONTROL LEVER is located at the neutral (zero) position.
7) Steer to PORT and STBD directions at the manual steering mode(Follow Up) by a steering wheel.
8) Confirm the TM-60 CONTROL MOTOR LEVER moves smoothly and the voltage between TM1-TM2
of the TM-60 external terminals is in the range from 0 to ±24V DC.
9) Confirm the voltage between LN3-LN4 of the TM-60 external terminals is in the range from 0 to
3.2V AC400Hz(0.16V AC/deg.) when the TM-60 CONTROL MOTOR LEVER moves from the neutral
(zero) position to PORT or STBD ends.

[Note 1]]
[Note 1] The buffer amplifier was not installed in the ship that were built between 1984 and 1993. The
buffer amplifier was detached in case the ship had excessive vibration. The figure below shows
the wiring diagram for those ships.
