In todays' competitive and fast-paced era time is more valuable than money. One should keep in
mind that money lost can be re-earned, but if time is lost, it can never be regained. However, the
sad truth is that everyone has got only a fixed 24 hours in the day, and they have to manage
multiple chores in that stipulated time only. Also, People often complain about limited period of
time they possess, however, it is not the limited time at their disposal that is a true problem, but
the way people mis-utilize this time creates problem . From this constraint of limited time only
only, one can understand the importance of effective management skills strategies such as
avoiding procrastination , self-regulation and avoiding multitasking . These strategies may help
people in improving their concentration level and productivity level , leads to improved health
The first and foremost strategy which can be used effectively in managing time is to .avoid
particular task at one point of time and would improve their productivity too. Many people have
this misconception in their mind that multitasking saves time, however, this is not the reality. .
According to Meyer (2010), when a person gets themselves engaged in multiple tasking conflicts
tend to take place between the tasks because human mind is not designed in such a way that it It
can simultaneously address two different actions at the same time. Next, switching from one task
to another results in a wastage of time and a low level of productivity. Apart from this, doing
multitasks at the same time may lower concentration level and the person may fail miserably in
performing both the task altogether. Therefore it is suggested that one should do one particular
procrastination strategy will result in having sufficient amount of energy at the later part of the
days as well completing most important task at the priority level There are a variety of reasons
which may force people to put off tasks for a while especially the tasks which are unpleasant or
which take a lot of time. Most people are drained out of energy before mid-day.Not setting a
proper plan in advance for one's whole days or without prioritizing the important tasks in
advance leads to a low level of energy before noon. However many studies have suggested that
one should do the most important tasks as the first things in the morning and less important tasks
Next, effective time management such as self-regulation f time may leads to great physical and
leads to an increase in downtime. In today’s competitive era many students fail to strike a
perfect balance between their studies and their external lives ,which results in misutilisation of
time ,disturbed sleep patterns, and high levels of stress (Hardy, 2003).However, the art of
maintaining a perfect balance between all day-to-day activities such as sleep, exercise, and well-
balanced diet results in great physical health which simply means that there is a direct
relationship between time management physical health O’Connell (2014). Many studies have
found that students who have the skills of self –regulating their own time are better at
maintaining work–life balance; a lower level of stress than their counterparts For Macan,
soon, however before adopting a strategy one has to evaluate what works best for them. Though ,
At the end of the days, every strategy aims at maintaining a healthy balance between work and
personal life, assisting one in accomplishing their important as well as less important tasks,
increasing their idle time, greater academic as well as non –academic performance and more
satisfying lives.
