ABSTRACT:
Electrical vehicle (EV) based on electric propulsion
system. No internal combustion engine is used. All the
power is based on electric power as the energy source.
The main advantage is the high efficiency in power
conversion through its proposition system of electric
motor. Recently there has been massive research and
development work reported in both academic and industry.
Commercial vehicles are also available. Many countries
have provided incentive to users through lower tax or tax
exemption, free parking and free charging facilities.
On the other hand, the hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) is an
alternative. It has been used extensive in the last few
years. Nearly all the car manufacturers have at least one
model in hybrid electric vehicle. The questions come to
us: Which vehicle will dominate the market and which
one is suitable for the future? This phase is to examine the
recent development of electric vehicle and suggest the
future development in the area.
INTRODUCTION:
Since the last two decades the judiciary and policy makers all
over the world are deeply concerned about the urgent need for
protection of the environment, ecology and humanity at large,
there has been a steep rise in the accumulation of greenhouse gases,
particularly co2, which effect global changes in weather. Motor
vehicle contribute about 14% of co2 from all sources besides,
pollution due to both petrol and diesel engine driven vehicles
caused by the emission of co, no unburnt hydrocarbons, particulate
and oxides of tetra ethyl, lead are injury to health and environment.
Regulations on exhaust emission from vehicle engines have been
made progressively more and more stipend towards the year
2000 and beyond. Vehicle manufactures have been hence obliged
to meet these standards by designing cleaner and fuel efficiently
engines and through provision for treatment of exhaust gases to
satisfy the specified limits. So to satisfy and overcome these two
problems namely:

1. Pollution
2. Efficiency
Then we go for a HYBRID Electric Vehicle.
LITERATURE SURVEY:
The progress of automobiles for transportation has been intimately
associated with the progress of civilization. The automobile of today is
the result of the accumulation of many years of pioneering research
development. In the modern trend automobiles have certain
disadvantages as
● Fuel cost relative to mileage, pollution and less efficiency.
● To improve efficiency
● To decrease the fuel cost relative to mileage
● To control the pollution is to be effect
Then our “HYBRID VEHICLE” is an aspect. The goal of this project
was to implement the most efficient and less polluting vehicle. In our
project the hybrid electric vehicle model combines the internal
combustion engine of a conventional vehicle with the battery and
electric motor of an electric vehicle, resulting in twice the fuel
economy of conventional vehicles. We implement this hybrid electric
vehicle concept for two wheelers.
Keywords: Hybrid vehicle, Fabrication, Automobile efficiency
COMPONENTS USED FOR
SIMULATION:
● An Internal combustion engine-Main source of
power
● Electrical Motor-To convert Electric energy
stored in battery into mechanical energy
● Electric Battery-To store electric energy
● Inverter-Conversion of Dc to Ac from Battery
to Motor
● DC/DC Converter-For High voltage DC power
to low voltage DC power
● Electric generator-Used for series and
series-parallel connection
● Control Module or Controller-To control
entire operation of the vehicle synchronization
of all the power employed
WORKING PRINCIPLE:

● Fuel tank is connected to the Engine & Engine is

connected to the Generator. Generator is connected
to the PCB. PCB is like a computer which decides
to send power to either battery or motor.
● When HEV is in fuel mode, IC Engine produces
the power and sends it to the generator, when it
uses the power to convert it into electricity. Later it
sends the electrical energy to PCB.
● Because its working in fuel mode PCB transfers
energy to Motor which drives the Vehicle.
● Excessive Power is sent to Battery to get charge.
● In battery mode, engine stops working and the
Battery send the power to PCB, from PCB to
Motor.
ADVANTAGES:
There are many advantages to owning a hybrid car. The
one you will like the best is how it helps to control the
budget as gas prices continue to get higher. The other
benefit that is not seen directly is how owning and
driving a hybrid car impacts the environment. It
reduces the dependence on fossil fuels and lowers
carbon imprint on the environment.
● Environmentally Friendly
● Financial Benefits
● Less Dependence on Fossil Fuels
● Regenerative Braking System
● Built From Light Materials
● Assistance From Electric Motor
● Higher Resale Value
DISADVANTAGES:

● Electric cars can travel less distance.

● Electric cars take longer to “refuel.”

● Electric cars are more expensive, and battery packs may

need to be replaced.

These are some disadvantages that can be overcome with

the advancement of technology.
RESULTS:

In heavy traffic and inside the city there is no chance

for moving fast. At that time, if vehicle is run by IC
engine, more fuel is wasted due to variation of
acceleration. If the vehicle is run electric hub motor
through battery, the consumption of power is
reduced. During less load operation, vehicle can be
easily run by mean of battery instead of by engine,
when high torque is required it can be changed to IC
engine mode. Further we are going to implement this
idea in the Bajaj spirit and planned to conduct
performance test.
FUTURE SCOPE:

In April 2019, Niti Aayog, the

federal think tank, published a report titled “India’s Electric
Mobility Transformation”, which pegs EV sales penetration
in India at 70 percent for commercial cars, 30 percent for
private cars, 40 percent for buses, and 80 percent for two-
and three- wheelers by 2030. These targets, if achieved,
could lead to a net reduction of 14 exajoules of energy and
846 million tons of CO2 emissions over the deployed
vehicles’ lifetime. Electric vehicles sold until 2030 can
cumulatively save 474 million tons of oil equivalent over
their lifetime, worth US$207.33 billion.
