Guidelines 2023 Summer Internship Programme (SIP) / Industry Internship / Industry Project Work For MBA / BBA / B. Com L.This isa 100 marks course, Objectives of the Sum Work: Internship Programme (SIP)/ Industry Internship! Industry Project 4. To experience the organization in its entirety, inclusive of organization of activities and its management b. To develop the ability to innovate within existing frameworks, thereby ereating space for alternative practices To develop strategies for evaluating an organization’s process and a product/service. To learn to choose, design, organize and conduct meaningful managerial activities. Touse the skills of systematic observations, record keeping, and analysis for reflection on learning- managing, £ To learn to set realistic goals in terms of organization, values, and management, activities, and learning, Time Frame “The time fame ofthe SIP or the stents ofthe First year MBA and 2" Year BBA or B, Com in Registered Organizations Institutions / Hospitals NGOs / Service Industry / Companies has to be fora minimum time stamp of 6~ 8 weeks 4. Each Student has to work under the close guidance of one faculty member (Mentor) from the Department of Management on one project. Mentors will be assigned to each student. 5. Supervisory Support a. Industry Supervisor from the Organization where students work as INTERN. Each Student has one industry/eorporate! fim supervisor who would supervise him/her ona regular basis Faculty Supervisor (Mentor): Monitoring and mentoring the intern in selecting a topic, report ‘writing, and presentation, The Faculty Supervisor would act as a mediator between the Student and the Organization's authorities and facilitate all aspects ofthe Internship Programme 6, Feedback by both Industry Supervisor and Faculty Supervisor: Faculty Supervisor should give qualitative feedback to the Student Intern on every supervisory visit day and evaluation would be done at the end ofthe Internship programme. 7. Assessment of SIP Report: 7.A-The average length of the writtentyped SIP report should range 40 - 60 number of Ad Sized pages with font style 12 font size typed with normal 1.5 line spacing and justified margins \w 7.2 The written SIP report should necessarily i clude the following, the chapters in the sequence given: The SIP report carries 60 marks. Receipt of confirmation from the company will be treated as the date of start ‘of SIP and will also validate the same, SIP Report Format for Non-Reseach Based Task: Title Page — the title of the proje academic year (01 page) Certificate from the General and Faculty supervisor/mentor (O1 page) Acknowledgment (01 page) Executive summary (02 page) List of contents (01 page) Introduetion (Industry Profile & Company's Contribution tothe Industry) ~ (03+ 04 pages) Company Profite (Including Vision, Mission, Goals, Financial Position, Value based on the Company Report) (04-06 pages) Objectives (Description of Roles and Responsibilities held in the Organization. Relationship with the Company's Operations and Objectives) (03 ~ 04 pages) Task Analysis and Evaluation (Documentation ofthe acivities/task accomplished or Data, Interpretation, and Analysis) ~ (15 -20 pages) Project Leaming outcomes and Conclusion (Including Summary, suggestion, and Limitation (05-06 pages) References Annexures (Activity Log, Task Chart containing details of daily/weekly activities, Reporting Mails and Texts, any other relevant information) , Student's name and supervisor name, Department, oR SIP Report Format for Research Based Task: Title Page — the title of the project, Student's name and supervisor name, Department, academic year (01 page) Certificate from the General and Faculty supervisor/mentor (O1 page) Acknowledgment (01 page) Executive summary (02 pages) List of contents (01 page) Introduction (Industry and Company's Contribution to the Industry, Critical Issues Observed) ~ (03- 04 pages) Literature Review (Critical theories and distinct variables to be included from various sources like Google Scholar, Scopus, ete.) (08-10 pages) Research Methodology (including specific task analysis, research design adopted, sampling, objectives and hypotheses)~ (04-06 pages) Data Analysis and Interpretation (including activitiestask accomplished and Data, Interpretation, and Analysis ~ ( Conclusion & Suggestions (Summary, outcomes, recommendations and Limitation (05-06 pages) References Appendices (Questionnaire used, Log table containing details of daily/weekly activities, any other relevant information) 73 The Student ean, however, with the permission of histher supervisor! mentor, ereatively re-work her/his chapters, ensuring that all the aspects mentioned above are included (without exceeding the number of pages). wn 8 No two students will be perm {ed to work on the same and/or similar topic in one and/or the same organization under any circumstances. 9 Attendance: Each student is required to meet/contact/nteract with hivher Faculty Supervisor once a week (mandatory) according o hisfher Faculty Supervisor's convenience and venue, and/or through virtual contacts such as email, and video conference, ete (Preferably email). The faculty Supervisor will Keep 2 record of such meetings and contaets. The supervisor and student may schedule more mectings if a need is felt. In addition, the student is required to attend workshops! lecturers organized by various Institutions’ organizations to strengthen their knowledge and skills. There will be no attendance for library visits, data collection, participating in workshops/seminars/ conferences, ec, The attendance requirement for this dissertation work is 75% as per the requirements ofthe course. 10 Presentation / VIVA-VOCE Examination of SIP: All Students are required to attend the VIVA-VOCE. ‘examination. The examination carries 40 marks. IFany student fails to undertake VIVA~VOCE examination leading to disqualification from the SIP work, which would be considered as an overall failure and would be required to redo the whole process. 11. Presentation / VIVA-VOCE PPT of the Summer Internship Programme will be assessed by the External Examiner and Faculty Committee based on the following criteria (40 marks) Criteria Conceptual Clarity ‘Analytical Ability interpretation of Data analysis / Data Presentation and Chapters Relevance ofthe study Communication and Handling Queries iF ie 12. All'Students are required to attend student's presentation. The attendance requirement for this presentation is 78% as per the requirements ofthe course. 13. Each Student has to submit one hard bound copy and one soft copy to the faculty supervisor at the time of Presentation’ Viva-Voee. Aa
