SIP Guidelines and Formats for Batch 2022-24
1) It is mandatory for every student to do an internship in the industry as a part of Academic compliance
for the 2-year full-time MBA degree. Students should find the internship through either CIAP, School,
Faculty reference or on their contacts on or before 20th June 2024.
2) The internship duration should be 2 months. Internship Starting from 17 th June 2024.
3) Refer to the mail sent from APO which has the Guide allocation.
4) Contact your Internal guide before you start your internship (preferably on or before 15 th June 2024)
5) Submit (soft copy/Hard copy) of the offer letter/Email received from the company to the internal
guide for approval. Without this submission, the internship will not be considered valid.
6) Share the contact information of your SIP in the link which will be provided on 2 nd July 2024.
7) Follow the guidelines given by the internal guide (Faculty from domains as per allocation) and external
guide (reporting authority company)
8) Discuss the project and topic with the guide before deciding on the title and other work proceedings.
9) Be regular in reporting (online / offline) to your internal guide whenever they call any meeting.
10) The project work has to be research-based. Students are expected to work as per company
expectations and create a research-based report and study for the Academic requirement.
11) Do not make any variations or changes to the projects without the consent of your internal guide.

Evaluation Pattern
ACCEPTABLE ELIGIBILITY OF THE SIP REPORT FOR EVALUATION OUT OF 300 MARKS
1. Submit Original/Authentic Report: Certificate of non-Plagiarism/ originality to be submitted to
respective internal Guide (in case of Research report). Plagiarism duplication up to 20% accepted.

3. Defaulters
Students who are found defaulters will have a backlog in SIP . such cases will be considered for action
as per the Examination Policy of MITWPU
4. Enforcement
Debar Provisions from Academic Section:
Debar If a student is found irregular in attending the college and other academic activities or if for any
reason is declared as defaulter for(misbehavior indiscipline etc.) by the Faculty members is
considered as Debar from the placement facilities. However, such students can appeal to Dean in
writing through Course Head and with concern of Head Placements.

An MBA student may perform his / her Summer Internship Programme based on either a ‘Research-based
project’
1. The core of a research-based project shall be performing a project which involves a substantial
component of research on a topic related to management domain.
2. Under a research-based project, the student shall conduct a systematic investigation into a
management phenomenon or solve a management problem using a well-defined research
methodology under the guidance of the organization guide.
3. The student shall collect and analyze ‘Primary Data’ and/ or ‘Secondary Data’. The student shall be
expected to use several tools and techniques that he / she has learnt in the courses ‘Research
Methodology’ and ‘Statistical Techniques’ in the MBA Programme.
4. A Research based project will be typically performed by a student in management domain, where the
organization wants to develop insights into an unexplored area, experiment some phenomenon or
validate certain assumptions or claims regarding a management phenomenon.
5. Examples: Developing & testing a new product or service, Comparing the performance of two or more
brands, doing marketing research, performing a Time study and Motion study in a factory, developing
insights into consumer’s preferences for financial products or services, doing predictive analysis for
stocks, doing a cause & effect study for production quality or employee performance, doing process
analysis etc.
6. For Report writing purpose, the student shall follow the Chapter scheme for Research Project (as
mentioned in Annexures).
An ‘Abstract’ is a chapter at the beginning of a Research Project Report which is intended to provide an
overview or orientation on the following report. It summarizes the report and shall contain information on the
following essential elements in brief:
An ‘Executive Summary’ is a chapter at the beginning of a Project Report which briefly summarizes the entire
longer report in such a way that the readers can quickly become acquainted with the large body of material
without having to read it all.
Do’s
1. Report on the first day of Internship to the venue as communicated by the host organization.
2. Be punctual
3. Always wear formal attire
4. Adhere to the timelines of Evaluation components submission / compliance
5. Stay in contact with Internship Internal Guide throughout the Internship duration
6. Exhibit pro-activeness & develop learning attitude (Remember Internship is the best
opportunity to observe & get experience of how industry functions)
7. Be polite with Internship External guide and other employees of the host organization.
8. Contact Internship Internal Guide, in case of any issues at the host organization / with
Internship External Guide.
9. Be sincere in your approach towards Internship.
Don’ts
2. Prepare fake documentation or show some work as your Internship which you have not done.
3. Insist on getting reimbursements for travelling/ conveyance / food etc.
4. Use host organization’s resources like stationery or facilities like transport, canteen etc. unless
permitted by the competent authority from the host organization.
5. Copy reports from earlier batches.
a) Format of the SIP Project Report: The students must adhere strictly to the format
for the submission of the project report.
b) Paper: The Report shall be typed on white executive bond paper, A-4 size for the
final submission. The Report to be submitted to the University must be original
(along with all original certificates) and subsequent copies may be photocopies on
any paper.
c) Typing: The typing shall be of Times New Roman, font size 12, and on both side of
the paper only, using black color only. (Spacing: to be maintained at 1.5 between
two lines), and the titles to be maintained at Times New Roman, font size 14.
d) Margins: The top & bottom margins must be 1" and left margin for right side page
and right margin for left side page should be 1.5"
e) Binding: Resin bound in Black with Golden Embossing.
f) Front cover: The front cover should be as per the format given.
g) Color Graphs / Charts / Tables can be used – provided they display the values and units
clearly.

Project Proposal, in MS word/pdf format, shall be submitted within 10 days of joining the Internship
Organization.
