constant due to dielectric losses and an attenuation constant due to an ohmic losses.
Assume conductivity of copper is to be 5.87 x 107 ℧/m.
17 Derive an expression for the attenuation constant due to dielectric losses in a CO2 L2 09M
microstrip line.
18 Derive the expressions for the attenuation loss due to conductor loss and CO2 L2 09M
dielectric loss in a parallel strip line.
19 A copper microstrip line has a width of 2.5 mm and is mounted on a substrate of CO2 L2 09M
thickness 2 mm. The dielectric constant of substrate is 8 and loss tangent is 4.5 x
10-4. If the frequency of operation of a microstrip line is 6 GHz, determine the
quality factor due to dielectric attenuation and the quality factor due to conductor
attenuation.
