ANALYSIS
1. What strategies did you use to match the shapes?
2. How did this activity help you understand the concept of shape
similarity?
3. Which shapes were most challenging to match, and why?
ABSTRACTION Shapes are everywhere around us, and they help us understand the
world better. In this lesson, we focused on matching shapes and drawing
figures using basic shapes like circles, squares, triangles, and rectangles.
Shapes have specific features like the number of sides and angles that
make them unique. When you recognize these features, it’s easier to
match shapes and create pictures.

MODULE SUMMARY
Through this module we have learned about straight 2D shapes such as circles, squares,
rectangles and triangles. We began to learn about the characteristics that make them unique.
We also had a chance to explore and practice our identification and use of 2D shapes in
pictures. By the end of this module you should feel comfortable identifying these shapes in
daily objects and can use them in drawings. These skills will help as you continue to learn
about pattern, geometry and design.
