1. Going to
Positive:
- I am going to visit my grandparents next week. (Haftaya büyükannemi ziyaret edeceğim.)

Negative:
- I am not going to visit my grandparents next week. (Haftaya büyükannemi ziyaret
etmeyeceğim.)

Question:
- Are you going to visit your grandparents next week? (Haftaya büyükannenizi ziyaret
edecek misiniz?)

2. Will
Positive:
- She will help you with your homework. (Sana ödevinde yardım edecek.)

Negative:
- She will not (won’t) help you with your homework. (Sana ödevinde yardım etmeyecek.)

Question:
- Will she help you with your homework? (Sana ödevinde yardım edecek mi?)

3. Modals (Necessity & Suggestions)


Must / Have to / Need to (Zorunluluk):

Positive:
- You must bring your passport. (Pasaportunuzu getirmelisiniz.)
- You have to follow the rules. (Kurallara uymak zorundasınız.)

Negative:
- You don’t have to bring your passport. (Pasaportunuzu getirmenize gerek yok.)
- You must not smoke here. (Burada sigara içmemelisiniz.)

Question:
- Do I have to follow the rules? (Kurallara uymak zorunda mıyım?)
- Must we leave now? (Şimdi ayrılmak zorunda mıyız?)

Should / Ought to / Had better (Tavsiye):

Positive:
- You should see a doctor. (Bir doktora görünmelisin.)
- You ought to study harder. (Daha sıkı çalışmalısın.)
- You had better lock the door. (Kapıyı kilitlesen iyi olur.)

Negative:
- You shouldn’t eat junk food. (Abur cubur yememelisin.)
- You had better not forget your umbrella. (Şemsiyeni unutmaman iyi olur.)

Question:
- Should I see a doctor? (Bir doktora görünmeli miyim?)
- Had I better leave now? (Şimdi gitsem iyi olur mu?)

Unit 6: Two-Part Verbs and Requests

1. Two-Part Verbs (Phrasal Verbs)


Positive:
- I’ll pick up the kids from school. (Çocukları okuldan alacağım.)

Negative:
- I won’t pick up the kids from school. (Çocukları okuldan almayacağım.)

Question:
- Will you pick up the kids from school? (Çocukları okuldan alır mısın?)

2. Modals for Requests


Can / Could / Would:

Positive:
- Can you help me with this project? (Bu projede bana yardım edebilir misin?)
- Would you mind closing the window? (Pencereyi kapatmanızda sakınca var mı?)

Negative:
- I’m sorry, I can’t help you right now. (Üzgünüm, şu anda size yardım edemem.)

1. Infinitives
Positive:
- She wants to learn Spanish. (İspanyolca öğrenmek istiyor.)

Negative:
- She doesn’t want to learn Spanish. (İspanyolca öğrenmek istemiyor.)

- Does she want to learn Spanish? (İspanyolca öğrenmek istiyor mu?)
2. Gerunds
Positive:

Unit 8: Relative Clauses and Adverbial Clauses of Time

1. Relative Clauses
Positive:
- That was the year when I graduated. (Bu, mezun olduğum yıldı.)

Negative:
- That wasn’t the year when I graduated. (Bu, mezun olduğum yıl değildi.)

Question:
- Was that the year when you graduated? (Bu, mezun olduğun yıl mıydı?)

2. Adverbial Clauses of Time


Positive:
- I’ll call you as soon as I arrive. (Varır varmaz seni arayacağım.)

Negative:
- I won’t call you until I arrive. (Varmadan seni aramayacağım.)

Question:
- Will you call me when you arrive? (Vardığında beni arayacak mısın?)
