Work Experience:

• Working in CA- Technologies (The Broadcom Company) as a
L1Mainframe Support Engineer (Monitor Consoles and Batch
work load) since Feb 4th 2021 to Dec 29th 2023.
• Worked with TRIANZ as a Mainframe Production support
Engineer since Dec 19th 2018 to Jan 29th 2021.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor of Technology from JNTU, Kakinada in 2012

Roles & Responsibilities:

Console Monitoring:

● Run the jobs under different LPARS per client request.


● Monitoring Console messages, and Performing Health checkup activity.
● Monitoring CPU utilization, Maintaining Spool Percentage, checking
contentions and outstanding messages.
● Purge/cancel the job, release the jobs from SDSF.
● Regular Health checkups on Z/OS.
● Escalation of Production job Abends.
● System Maintenance and Monitoring Syslog Activities.
● Performing IPL on Monthly basis on all partitions (Including for Daylight
Saving).
● Involving in Major DR Activities and Z/OS upgradations.
● Intermittently checking WTOR’s and contentions on all the LPAR’s.
● Monitoring online regions and CPU utilization for all CICS and IMS
regions.
● As per MVS/AUTOMATION team bringing up the Started Tasks.
● Recycling of CICS, Online Task’s and IMS Regions as per customer
requirement.
● Monitoring CICS regions, Handling Critical Batch Flow to meet all CICS
regions on time.
Batch Monitoring:

● Providing Batch support for 24x 7 which involves fixing the production
Abend, monitoring the batch cycle for the daily, monthly, weekly, yearly
jobs and report the statistics to the client and to provide immediate fixes to
the production Abend. Solving the production Abend as per the prose of the
job.
● Monitoring Held& Long running jobs.
● If any Job abends, check the prose and take immediate actions as per
instruction in the prose.
● Cancel/Force complete/Restarting jobs.
● Performing one time requests by using RUN & DEMAND.
● Analyze the jobs that are running late status.
● Ensure the timely completion of the batch cycles as per the schedule.
● Scheduling Jobs through CA7 with triggers /without triggers on request
basis.
● Responsible for resolution of batch which includes the JCL overrides and
JCL modification too.
● Scheduling jobs through IBM Z Workload Scheduler (IBM IZWS).
● Monitoring Daily Batch Jobs on both IBM Z Workload Scheduler and CA7
on TSO and ISPF panel.
● Checking for look back issues on CA7 which helps in proper flowing of
batch.
● Open and manage incidents using Remedy.

As L1 Operational Support:

● Monitoring Daily Batch Jobs on both CA r11 and CA7 tools.


● Taking necessary actions on Abend/Failed Jobs based on the details
provided in the Job Doc.
● If Jobs are failed with JCl error will look at the Job log and fix the error.
● Monitor Consoles (Tools : AP Viewer, AF-Remote & Netview Focal
Point)
● Perform Changes & Weekly Maintenance activities
● Perform weekly scheduled IPL on 21 Lpars that include both
Production & Test Lpar's within the window time.
● Perform SAD on affected LPAR’s and take dumps by running Batch
Jobs.
● To take necessary actions on JES Shortage & even monitor the CPU
performance for every 1hr.
● Monitor CICS and IMS transactions and take actions if it is locked.
● Recycling some of the Production task (like ZOSMF task, ENF, TCPIP,
DB2 etc..) when it is effected by taking dump after looking at the log
and take actions following the SYSPROG Doc.
● Perform Health checks on hourly basis which includes (Wtor’s, spool
shortage, CPU%, Contention, Transactions related issues & clearing
IMS blocks etc.)
● During P1 & P2 issues will reach out to MF-teams and co-ordinate with
other production teams.
● HMC part (Performing POR, Activating & Deactivating LPAR,
Adding weights etc…)
Technical Skills :

OPERATING SYSTEMS: OS/390, MVS/ESA, WINDOWS 98/NT.


LANGUAGES : C, JCL.CICS,DB2
TOOLS : AP VIEWER, CA-7, ISPF,
SDSF,SERVICENOW,ESP SCHEDULER,QWS3270.
