BARANGAY STREETLIGHTS PROJECT

Barangay Bagacay, Municipality of San Jose, Camarines Sur

III. Project Description

The Barangay Streetlights Project aims to improve public safety, reduce crime rates, and
enhance mobility and economic activities during nighttime in Barangay Bagacay. The project
will involve the installation of durable and energy-efficient streetlights in strategic locations,
primarily along main roads, intersections, and other key areas identified through community
consultation.

IV. Project Objectives

1. Enhance Public Safety: Provide adequate lighting to reduce accidents and deter
criminal activities during nighttime.
2. Improve Livelihood Opportunities: Create a safer environment for evening
economic activities.
3. Promote Community Development: Support better accessibility and connectivity
within the barangay.

V. Project Beneficiaries

Direct Beneficiaries:

 Approximately 1,313 households in Barangay Bagacay, particularly in Puroks 1,2, 3,


4, 5, 6 and 7
Indirect Beneficiaries:

 Commuters, local business owners, and visitors.

VI. Project Components

1. Procurement of Materials: Energy-efficient streetlight units, poles, wires, , and other


accessories.
2. Installation of Streetlights: Placement of streetlights in designated areas.
3. Training and Maintenance: Orientation for barangay staff and volunteers on
maintenance and repair.

IX. Land Ownership

The land where the streetlights will be installed is owned by Barangay Bagacay. The
Barangay Development Council has affirmed its use for this project.
X. Sustainability Plan

To ensure the sustainability of the project:

1. A Barangay Maintenance Team will be established to conduct regular inspection and


repair of streetlights.
2. A portion of the Barangay Fund will be allocated annually for maintenance and utility
expenses.
3. Energy-efficient and solar-powered streetlights will be prioritized to reduce
operational costs.

XI. Approval and Endorsement

This subproject proposal has been discussed, reviewed, and endorsed during the Barangay
Development Council meeting held on December 6, 2024.
