MATERIAL LEDGER

Material Ledger is a Tool that collects transaction data for materials


whose master data is stored in material master. The material ledger
uses this data to calculate prices to valuate these materials. The
material ledger is the basis of actual costing.

MATERIAL MASTER
The material master is the central master record for logistics.
Material master data is maintained in different views to
support various departments within an organization, for
instance, sales department, purchasing department,
production site. Material master data is maintained at various
levels of the organization.

PRODUCT MASTER
The material or product master contains information about all
the physical materials that are procured, produced, stored
and sold. It is also used to manage information about services
for instance for buying and selling services in hours.

PROCESS BLOCK PROFILE:


The process block profile enables you to specify that
certain processes are not executed (process block type
Error), or are only executed with a warning (process block
type Warning).

PROCESS TYPE DETERMINATION INDICATOR:


The system uses this indicator as one of the criteria
to determine a warehouse process type.

CYCLE COUNTING INDICATOR:


Specifies the cycle count indicator that you want to
have available to cycle count products in your
warehouse

REQUIRED MINIMUM SHELF LIFE:


The system checks the required minimum shelf life during
goods receipt. You can use this field to specify a required
minimum shelf life on the level of warehouse number and
party entitled to dispose instead of specifying it on global
product level.

PUTAWAY CONTROL:
Indicates how you want to control the putaway of certain
products in certain storage types in a preferential manner.

STORAGE SECTION INDICATOR:
This indicator makes the system determine that a product is to
be put away into one particular storage section in preference to
another. You can define more than one storage section in
priority order in a table.

BULK STORAGE:
Classifies a product according to the way it is stored in a bulk
storage area and how stackable it is.

STOCK REMOVAL CONTROL:


Indicates that you prefer that a product is removed from a
particular storage type or storage type group during stock
removal and controls the sorting of stock during stock removal.

TWO-STEP PICKING:
In Extended Warehouse Management (EWM), you can pick
products directly or using two-step picking. The method used
for picking often depends on the product. You can only pick
some products individually. For others, the entire picking
process is more efficient using the two-step method.
