DETAILED LESSON PLAN MATHEMATICS II

 Content Standard:
The learner demonstrates understanding of comparing mass in grams and
kilograms, recognizing and applying the appropriate units of measurement (grams and
kilograms) for different objects based on their weight.

 Performance Standard:
The learner is able to accurately compare and describe the mass of various
objects using the correct units of measurement (grams and kilograms) and apply
comparison symbols (>, <, =) to demonstrate an understanding of mass differences.

 Learning Competency:
Compare mass in grams and kilograms by using appropriate units for light and
heavy objects.

measurements and conversions, appreciating the importance of accurate mass
comparison in everyday life.
c. Psychomotor: Pupils will demonstrate the ability to measure and compare the
mass of objects using a scale, recording the values in grams and kilograms,
and performing conversions between these units.

Today we’re going to discuss about


“Comparing Mass in Grams and Kilogram”
I want you to watch this video, sit properly
and listen, because after the video I have a
questions and using this jar I will pick one

The greater than (>) symbol is used when


the weight on the left side is heavier than the
weight on the right side. For example, 1
kilogram is heavier than 100 grams and is
written as: 1 kg > 100 g.

The less than (<) symbol is used when the


weight on the left side is lighter than the
weight on the right side. For example, 100
grams is lighter than 1 kilogram and is
written as: 100 g < 1 kg.

The equal (=) symbol is used when the two


weights being compared are the same.
Remember that 1000 grams is equal to 1
kilogram, and it is written as: 1 kg = 1000 g.

This is the question for Ariella. Just say less


than, gretear than, or equal. I dentify what is
in the picture.

E. Discussion

Children’s, I have here the kilograms, and


grams, so lets us learn more about the
kilograms and grams. I want to know how
many kilograms the bag of Juancho weighs.
I will use kilograms because it is already too
heavy. But first, I would like to teach you
how to count in kilograms. So, these large
numbers with lines are called kilograms,
and the small lines in between the large lines
with numbers are called grams. Now, I will
count how many kilograms this scale can
measure. Listen carefully, children. I will
start from the top, where the large line has
the number ten. Please count with me,
children.

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. (The pupils count together). 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6,


7, 8, 9, 10.
So in this scale is only ten kilograms. We

can only use this to weigh food and other


items that are sold by the kilogram, and it
shouldn't exceed ten kilograms, because it
might get? Damaged.

Very good grade two. Now, children, I want


to know how much the two notebooks of
Marcus weigh. But I will use grams to
weigh them because they are not that heavy.
However, I would like to teach you how to
count in grams. Here, you will also see large
lines, just like the scale we used earlier, but
the reading here is in grams, showing how
many grams the item we are weighing
weighs. The small lines represent five grams
each, but lets us count this in short. Come
on, let's start counting!
