Tutorial 1-Solution Total

The document provides solutions for two power system problems, detailing the construction of per-phase equivalent circuits for V-connected and Δ-connected loads. In Solution Q6, a per-phase equivalent circuit is created for a V-connected system, while Solution Q7 involves converting a Δ-connected load to an equivalent Y form before constructing its per-phase circuit. Figures A1, A2, and A3 illustrate the respective circuits for clarity.

Solution Q6:

Figure.A1. Per-phase circuit in Figure 3.

Since both the generator and the load on this power system are V-connected, it is very simple to
construct a per-phase equivalent circuit. This circuit is shown in Figure.A1
Solution Q7:

Figure.A2. Three-phase circuit in Q7

Figure.A3. Per phase circuit in Q7

This power system is shown in Figure.A2. Since the load on this power system is Δ- connected,
it must first be converted to an equivalent Y form. The phase impedance of the Δ-connected
load is 12 + j9 Ω, so the equivalent phase impedance of the corresponding Y forn is

The resulting per-phase equivalent circuit of this system is shown in Figure. A3.
