WHAT IS FRP?
Fibre glass reinforced plastic (FRP) also known as Glass fibre reinforced plastic (GRP) is a
composite of fiberglass and plastic or polymer resin that when combined, offer a stronger, more
durable, more corrosion resistant and heat-resistant product than other metals

The process came into its own in the late 1970s, surpassing steel and other metals as
the preferred choice in thousands of applications. And because molds can be designed in any
shape, size, FRP products can be made in virtually any shape and size as well.

Using a mold to create the finished product, fiberglass is generally thermoset with a type of
plastic or epoxy resin. When cured, the end product will hold its shape because of the resin,
while the fiberglass will provide strength and stiffness. This technology has led to increased
durability and strength in hostile and corrosive environments. In FRP there are various types
of resin such as Epoxy resin, Vinyl ester resin, Bisphenol polyester resin, Isophthalic Polyester
Resin, etc. Based on the application of product, we choose correct type of resin. In certain
cases Polypropylene is used as inner liner, when resins are not suitable for such application.

FRP STORAGE TANK
Our Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) tanks come in a wide assortment of shapes, sizes and capacities to meet virtually any storage and
processing need. We practice hand lay-up (contact molded) construction.

FRP Tanks are available in following Shapes

STANDARD
BS4994 (formally: British Standard 4994:1987) is the “specification for the design and construction of vessels and storage tanks in reinforced
plastics”. It specifies a code of practice for use by manufacturers of such containers. With the publication of BS EN 13121-3, BS 4994:1987
Specification for design and construction of vessels and tanks in reinforced plastics is declared obsolescent, which will still cover those tanks
still in service as tanks made from GRP are generally accepted to have a long working life.

Degasser Tower
CO² Degassing Systems
Water treatment plants using RO, DM or EDI systems often face resistivity of the outlet water, which occurs due to increased level of carbon
dioxide in the water. Carbon Dioxide present in water may cause frequent regeneration in Ion Exchangers (DM and Water Softener); in addition,
Reverse Osmosis and Electro-deionization Systems (EDI) produce higher quality water if the CO2 has been removed effectively. Therefore, in order
to remove or decrease level of Dissolved Carbon Dioxide (CO2), Degassifier or Degasser system is used.

Degasser for Demineralisation (DM) Plant

Degasser is an integral part of any demineralization plant, where it is generally placed between cation and anion exchanges and removes Carbon
Dioxide, which is generated by dissociation of carbonic acid at cation outlet water. In this Degassing processes, Degasser Tower is utilized, which
is made from either FRP or Mild Steel with rubber lined or epoxy coating. Low air pressure is generated at the bottom of the tower that drives
out CO2 and the degassed water is collected in a sump beneath the tower.

Many factors influence the creation of carbon dioxide and its removal from the service water:
• The amount of carbon dioxide in the surrounding atmosphere;
• The local pressure;
• The pH of the water;
• The presence of bicarbonate ions.

Bluemoon Advanced Filtration Systems designs, manufactures and installs Degassing Systems for CO2 removal in various water treatment
plants. These Degasser units are customized and can be made on order depending upon the flow rate of your system. We manufacture both

FRP Moulded Grating
Moulded Fibre glass grating is manufactured in an open, heated mould system. Continuous
E-glass roving are placed in the mould in alternating layers and completely wetted out with resin.
This continuous process produces an integral, one piece construction which provides excellent
corrosion resistance as well as bidirectional strength. There are a number of different moulds
available resulting in a extensive range of panel sizes, thickness and mesh patterns.

Bluemoon products are lightweight and easy to fabricate. Savings on labour and equipment often
make the total installed cost of Bluemoon products comparable to that of steel. Combining these
installation savings with low maintenance, long life and worker safety, our products offer a life
cycle cost that is significantly lower than that of metallic products.
