INTRODUCTION
Work immersion is to provide SHS learners with opportunities to become
familiar with the work place, simulate employment and to apply their
competencies in areas of specialization/applied subjects in actual work
environments.
According to the Department of Education, this program is an 80-hour hands-
on encounter, which Senior High Students must experience to open them to
genuine working environment setting and improve their abilities learned in
school. The Department of Labor and Employment said work is an integral
part of the K to 12 Program in fully realizing its goals to produce job ready
graduates equipped with industry-based skills. DOLE strongly affirms that
work immersion contributes to the full realization of the objectives of the K to
12 Program.

OBJECTIVES OF WORK IMMERSION

One of the goals of K-12 Basic Education Program is to develop in learners
the competencies, work ethics, and values relevant to pursuing further
education and /or joining the world of work. To achieve greater congruence
between basic education and the nation’s development targets, Work
Immersion, a required subject, has been incorporated into the curriculum. It
aims to provide learners:
1. Enhance their technical knowledge and skills.
2. Enrich their skills in communication and human relations.
3. Chance to apply their competencies in areas of specialization/applied
subjects in authentic world environment.
4. Develop good work habits, attitudes, appreciation, and respect for
work.

Work immersion provide them with an avenue to test themselves and apply
what they have learned in non-school scenario. In work immersion, learners
are not only able to apply their previous training but are also able to
experience the social interactions in a work environment. Their experiences
during their work immersion will develop many skills and values that would
help them as they transition from high school to real life. To assure the
achievement of the above objectives of Work Immersion, this policy serves
to guide schools in:
 Creating flexible work immersion arrangements for their
learners.
 Providing options for work immersion that are relevant to
learners’ purpose and needs;
 Organizing work immersion opportunities for learners that are
consistent with the diverse human resource requirements of
partner institution for work immersion; and
 Articulating the scope and limits of work immersion in the
context of basic education when building relationships with work
immersion partners.
VALUES AND ATTRIBUTES OF STUDENT
IN A WORK IMMERSION
Student trainees should have these characteristics by the following values
and attributes in their respective workplace.
Good Communicator
Employers will look for someone who can express themselves clearly not just
in written but also in oral communication. Confidence is a must specially in
dealing with different people, with different personalities. A work immersion
student should be a good communicator so that he/she will be able to
express him/herself freely contributing his/her brilliant ideas in
accomplishing assigned tasks.
Hardworking
One of the best qualities a person must develop is being hardworking in
order for him/her to succeed in life. Through this work immersion, this quality
is being enhanced since the student is being encouraged to accomplished
his/her tasks in a certain period of time. A student can benefit from being
hardworking since he/she gets learn all the best practices that he/she needs
to apply whenever difficulty arises.
Organized
Being organized will help a person to accomplished his/her tasks on time and
efficiently. Student must practice being organized all the time since this will
help him/her to become an efficient person. Once a person is organized at
work, there is a possibility of less mistakes and less clutter and the work flow
is smooth and effective.
Passionate
Regardless if a student possesses all the qualities mentioned above if he/she
is not passionate on he/she is doing, then it will still make him/her less
effective. An employer would consider a passionate employee to hire since
he/she puts all him/herself to the job. The dedication to accomplish the tasks
is evident no matter what difficulties he/she needs to face or endure.
Punctual
Time is important especially at work place. A work immersion student should
value time and should see to it that he/she reports on time. Being late is an
indicator that a person value others’ time less. It is a simple act
disrespecting company’s policy and other as well. Hence, punctuality is
important in order for the work to be done early and efficiently.

HISTORY
Republic Act 7878 separated the province of Kalinga and Apayao on
February 14, 1995. This created two (2) distinct Police Provincial Office and
Apayao Police Provincial Police Pursuant to GO Nr DPL 96-08 dated July o5
1995.
Since July 16 1971, when Kalinga and Apayao is not yet separated, the
location of Headquarters of Kalinga-Apayao Constabulary Command (Now
the Kalinga Police Provincial Office) is in a ten (10) hectares lot located here
at Camp Juan M Duyan, Bulanao, Tabuk, Kalinga.
The command was also constituted and organized as the Kalinga-Apayao
Constabulary command on June 29, 1967; this military camp was later
named Camp Duyan, an illustrious military officer during the second World
War and who was later elected as Congressman of the former province of
Kalinga-Apayao.
Way back on August 24, 1993, the same area was donated to the
Philippine National Police through resolution no. 93-189 on which the PNP put
up its Provincial Headquarters and other installation necessary to its
operation. This was further strengthened by ways of "Deed of Donation" by
the Provincial Government of Kalinga represented by the Provincial Director
PSUPT BENEDICT MICHEAL BANAWAG FOKNO(DSC).
Through the passage of time, several buildings were constructed inside the
camp such as the motor pool, PD's Quarters, PMG Headquarters, classroom
buildings, cooperative building, Officer's Quarter and other building which
now accommodate the office of the HPG, NAPOLCOM and CIDG as a support
group.
During the recent PNP Service Anniversary celebrated by PROCOR last
September 2, 2016 at camp Dangwa La Trinidad, Benguet, Kalinga PPO is a
recipient of special award because of our various operational
accomplishments. Rest assured that, the construction of this new building
will surely serve as our inspiration and smotivation to event exert greater
effort in our respective task especially relative to the priority anti-crime
program of the PNP. In behalf of the whole Kalinga PPO, I would like to
express our whole-hearted happiness for our new PHQ standard building.
