Dictionary Definition:
Cybersecurity is the art of protecting networks, devices, and data from unauthorized access or
criminal use and the practice of ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability of
information.

My Personal Definition:
Protecting our way of life.

• High demand – 30% growth in jobs expected over the next 10 years

• Job security – The more experience, the more you will be needed

• Security Help Desk Technician – Help employees with security issues

• Incident Response Analyst – Monitor systems for security breaches

• Penetration Tester – Find gaps in security

• Security Auditor – Ensure that companies are following rules

• Listen to cybersecurity podcasts instead of music

• Stay up to date on what’s new in the industry
• Continue to network and build your brand
