 Russia is bigger than the Philippines. (False)


 Mount Everest in the Himalayas is the tallest peak in the world. (True)
 Antarctica is the driest, tallest, and coldest continent in the world.
 India is the most populated country in the world. (False)

“Agree or Disagree”

 Sarah Geronimo is as good as Charice.


 Davao City is the safest city in the world.
 Science is easier than Mathematics.
 The Bible is the most reliable book in the whole world.
 Rock music is better than Alternatives.
 Elsa is more attractive that Ana.

C. Presentation of the Lesson


“True or False” / “Agree or Disagree”
1. As the students: “What is the function of the underlined words in the given sentences?”
2. As the students: “What kind of adjective used in the given sentences?”
3. Arrange the following sentences in the Motivation which have comparative degrees of
adjective.
4. Let the student observe the sentences, then, ask the following questions:
4.1. What are the similarities of the sentences?
5. Introduce the Comparative Degree of Adjectives.
5.1. The Comparative Degree is used when comparing two person or things.
5.2. The Comparative degree of adjectives with one or two syllables is formed by adding er
or more + positive form of the adjective.
6. Arrange the following sentences in the Motivation which have superlative degrees of
adjective.
7. Let the student observe the sentences, then, ask the following questions:
7.1. What are the similarities of the sentences?
8. Introduce the Superlative Degree of Adjectives.
8.1. The Superlative Degree of adjective with two or more syllables is formed by adding
most before the adjective.
8.2. The superlative degree of adjectives is formed by adding est or having most + the
positive form of the adjective.
9. Let the students define the difference of comparative and superlative adjective.

D. Practice/Drill
1. Present the following sentences to the class.
2. Let the class provide the appropriate form of adjectives in the given sentences, orally.
2.1. Paul is a (thoughtful) friend.
2.2. Christine is (intelligent) than Grimmie.
2.3. Sandara’s hat is (expensive) than mine.
2.4. Julius is (healthy) than Randy. Jasmine is the (healthy) of them all.
2.5. The cake I ate at this bakeshop is (delicious) than the cake I ate at home.

E. Evaluation
1. Let the student provide the correct form of adjective/s in the following sentences.
1.1. My essay is (long) than Jeremy’s.
1.2. Christy is the (responsible) person in the class.
1.3. Irene is the (young) of them all.
1.4. The de Castro Family is (rich) than the de Leons.
1.5. Which star is the (beautiful) among the others?
1.6. The movie is (interesting) than the book.
1.7. The weather today is(bad) than yesterday.
1.8. The town is just as (large) as my native one.
1.9. The story (exciting) I have ever heard!
1.10. The shop is (far) than the school.
F. Assignment
1. Let the student construct at least five sentences using comparative and superlative form of
adjectives in the pictures provided.
