Assignment #1: Installing OpenOffice (in Windows operating

system)

Step 1 - Prerequisites
Check the operating system you have in your computer.
OpenOffice can be installed in any of the following Windows versions.
Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2012, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1,
Windows 10

Step 2 - Visit download website


Type the following address in your browser.
https://www.openoffice.org/download/

Step 3: Downloading the software


Select the operating system in the first drop-down.
Select "English[US]" in the second drop-down.
Select the version "4.1.6" in the third drop-down.
Click "Download full installation" button.
Wait for the download to complete. Check whether the file
Apache_OpenOffice_4.1.6_Win_x86_install_en-US.exe is downloaded.

Step 4 - Installation
Double click the file Apache_OpenOffice_4.1.6_Win_x86_install_en-US.exe that you downloaded in
the previous step.
The Welcome window is displayed to note that you have downloaded Apache OpenOffice 4.x.x.
Click Next to continue.

When Select Folder window is displayed


Accept the folder name displayed in the text box, click Unpack.

Once the files are unpacked, the Apache OpenOffice 4.x.x Installation Wizard is displayed.
Click Next to continue installing Apache OpenOffice 4.x.x.

When Welcome window appears


Just read and then click Next.

When License Agreement window appears


Read the license, select "I accept the terms in the license agreement", and click Next.

When Customer Information window appears


You may leave this form blank, or enter your User Name and if applicable, Organisation.
Complete Customer Information form and click Next.
If "Install for all users" option is given to you
Accept this option and install for all users. It means that all user accounts in the machine can use
OpenOffice software.

When Setup Type window appears


Select Complete and click Next.

When File Type window is displayed


In this screen, leave the boxes UNCHECKED. Click Next button.

Click Install to begin the installation process.


Click Finish button.

Assignment #2: Answer the following questions


1. Which one is not present in OpenOffice Calc
