Instructions for preparing Field Quality Plan (FQP):


Name of the Item: Full name of the item for which FQP is being prepared should be indicated along with the complete material, type, class, rating, range, size etc. or complete designation / description of the
item or as recommended in the product specification.
Column 2: Activity / Operation: Name of components/ equipment / system/ activity/ operation (e.g.: Site Receipts Inspection, Storage, Handling, Pre-Erection and Erection) shall be indicated..
Column 3:: Characteristics / check / test / examination of activity / operation should be indicated (Visual, dimensional, leveling, alignment, hydraulic, chemical, mechanical, performance, ultrasonic, magnetic
particle, dye penetrant, radiographic, polarization index, high voltage, insulation resistance, etc) shall be indicated .
Column 4: All checks / inspection and tests have been classified / categorized as ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ depending on the criticality and the responsibility for performing / witnessing the inspection & testing and
disposition of any nonconformity detected defined in the Table given below. In addition the checks / tests required to be witnessed by the Owner (or their representative) are categorized as ‘G’.
Category A & B checks are also required to be inspected / supervised by the Specialist from the equipment manufacturer wherever they are engaged for supervision of erection works; Category ‘C’
checks are supervised on surveillance basis.

A FQA Engineer in Head (FQA)  The owner has right to witness any of the checks at any stages of defined site activities. The owner may delegate

association with their authorized representative to carry out the above defined activities.

Designated Site Engineer  In case of any non conformity, the Main Contractor / Sub-Contractor shall take necessary clearance prior to

Engineer FWPL support of their justification are to be submitted to the authorized agency indicated alongside for approving the

on surveillance basis Engineer FWPL disposition records shall be included in QA Documentation.
G Owner in association with  Any activities not defined in the reference documents shall be as per manufacturer's Instruction manuals.
- -  Checks classified as ‘A’, ‘B’ & ‘G’ shall be FWPL’s CHP stages.
Designated Site Engineer
Column 5: Either 100% checks or on sample basis specifying percentage sample to be checked. In case check has to be performed periodically frequency of testing to be indicated.
Column 6: Indicate applicable FWPL Specification / approved document, Manufacturer’s plant standard, IS, DIN, BS, ASME, IEC or other national/international standards, statutory codes, drawings etc.
Column 7: Indicate the requirement (values) and tolerance limits or mention the appropriate document(s) as in Column 6, which contain the requirements.
Column 8: Appropriate format/ certificate on which test/ inspection results recorded shall be indicated. Column 8 ‘D’: Records identified by FWPL with Tick mark (√) shall be essentially included by the contractor
in QA documentation.
Column 9: Any specific remark shall be written here.
