I. A. In all of the many accomplishments of Rizal, why do you think “Dr.” was embedded in his name and
not the other titles?
Way back in Spaniards era, one of the most novel profession is to become a doctor in medicine.
Where in Jose Rizal finished his course and as a doctor in medicine, he prompts to serve the
people. Promoted health awareness by giving free; necessary; inexpensive services. He even
became a public figure of health promotion and decided to cure patients at Dapitan. And also,
the reason why Rizal shifted his career majorly to doctor was his desire to sure his mother's
failing eyesight.

B. At what age did Jose Rizal died?


Rizal was convicted of sedition and sentenced to death by firing squad. Rizal's public execution was
carried out in Manila on December 30, 1896, when he was 35yrs 6mos and 11 days.

C. At this point in time, can a normal person achieve all the accomplishments of Rizal?
Definitely some may say YES.
About Rizal’s power of influence and accomplishments, it was easier said than done but
education maybe of a later step. Given that we are now free from colonizers and education has
become the right of every person. Education has been Rizal's main tool for him to be able to
garner greater lengths in life, like him writing his novels and making an impact to people's lives.
Whereas, education today is far more advance and flexible. To Rizal, education has an
important role in every aspects of life because being well educated and knowing the rights of
every individual in this country can make one's mind and heart to bring out their true judgements
and identify foul play and raise true nationalism. So, applying it to our time, a person, any well-
educated and informed individual, who has an intense desire to serve his country, can also
influence the nation like Rizal did.
As long as it’s your passion because determination, dedication, and courage follows. If you do
what you do and what you love, you can achieve it. If you work for your passion either as dream
or wants in life then you will definitely achieve the great things. Don’t work hard, continue to
work smarter. That is why continues work is also an important to achieve those title that we
want in the future. Because small steps will lead to a great success.
And eventually some lefty may say NO.
Achieving one’s title is hard compared to way back Rizal’s time. Today, at the age 35 you can
achieve a tittle of about an average of 5 maybe especially when you plan to study a medicine
course like a doctor who specialize ophtha. And another thing, some of Rizal’s
accomplishments is not on par of today’s generation and hard to say that some may not be
even applicable. One more thing our education system has changed, our standard of education
has gone high and so do the qualifications of any title and accomplishments you may plan to do.
Thus, you need a certificate or any related bond papers just to say you really did something or
to prove something you really are whom you are. The higher the standard means more time
spent. So basically, it isn’t possible to achieve all those in 35 yrs as a normal people who lacks
financial capability.

In conclusion, maybe either a normal or not can…

2. Why was “To my Filipino Youth” considered as Rizal’s greatest writing and not his two
famous novels (Noli Me Tangere, El Filibusterismo)?
“To my Filipino Youth” is considered as Rizal’s greatest writing of Rizal because it serves as an
open letter directly for the youth. Whereas” all” are his audience, knowing that eventually
parents, teachers, and even elders will be the platform of conveying the message Rizal wants
the youth to know about. Rizal saw that an education is the key to create a good impact to the
Filipino youth and it will lead them to freedom and self-determination. And this literary work of
Rizal focuses on the youths creating a better future for our country wherein he stated that the
youth is the hope of the motherland. It encourages them to use their full potential as individuals
and to explore and fill themselves with knowledge for them to contribute significant changes that
seek to uplift our motherland. This poem strongly shows that nationalism will give any young
person a sense of direction in life, for he now knows that having a purpose-oriented life geared
to help your country is one of the greatest feats you can ever achieve in life.
Lastly, it opens up the mind of young people to patriotism. That love and appreciate your dialect
or language, for it is the bridge and intermediary that connects people. It also to encourage the
youth or upcoming generation to be proud of their own native language and learn to recognized
of their own natives and respect others with such difference.
With such stronghold message that caters all youth of all generation. It really is a masterpiece
that deserve Rizal’s greatest writing.
