Chapter 4: The Internship Project
Chapter 4: The Internship Project
The principal accomplishment of the whole internship is the internship study, which assesses and
analyzes the interns' comprehension of the topics that were learned during the internship. Tasks
are worthwhile in all agencies, but the initiative is related to the most operating department,
which makes it a department of major significance so the main appraisal is built around the
particular project carried out in that department, with an internal department having to settle on
the primary role to concentrate on all tasks and functions. It can be viewed as the most
to perform research in a specific domain and present the field alone, so that everyone could keep
up with the work of other members and exchange knowledge about their research field so that
everyone could contribute to the exchanging of ideas and information about all themselves. The
groups were randomly created of four to fünf participants, 4 of whom included boys and girls, 4
of which were boys and 2 were girls and a total of 2 were girls like me. The groups were made
flexible to improve learning abilities and strengthen students' confidence and communication
skills to properly communicate with one another. There was no language difference and it was
not difficult to share field-related knowledge because of the same aviation origin. The
community was also established in such a way that two mentors facilitated contact and the
efficient increase in production and freight handling. The key goal was to develop the
architecture were shaped. All four participants took part in an explaining of the formal design
step by step to make it easier for the project to go smoothly, for consideration of mentoring
guidance and recommendations to improve its effectiveness and performance. The starting
process consisted of getting the pass for the airside visit with a guide to better grasp the activities
undertaken to ensure smooth and safe operation of air traffic. With the pass we were able to
explore the place for nearly two days along with a guide or a partner from the airport; thus, the
key obstacle was to obtain details for project submission in just two days. Even if access was
given for 48 hours, but from 9am to 5pm, the duration of our visit was another limitation.
Site assessment and casual small interviews have been carried out in order to collect as much
knowledge as possible to make a well-founded theory. The four participants made findings and
work began one day before the airside was available. We devised a plan to observe all aspects
one day before our visit to the apron, the cargo store, no matter how slight an impact it may have
on cargo management. The members agreed to use the learning method to ask the staff working
in this field to increase the leaning to get information for the project any difficult questions.
With the two-day restriction period, on the first day we managed to get as much information as
possible and at the end of the day the full observation and our next move were debated with the
boss. We reviewed our reports on the second day of the on-site observation in order to achieve a
fair outcome, which will reinforce our comments and results during the internship.
4.4. Key findings/Results
The discoveries made during the time of the project have been officially identified as
observations and our primary assumptions as our core source of information. These are the only
There is no automated baggage screening device that allows the ASF to search the
random baggage or suspected baggge manually. Random checking exits the upgrade area
and re-opening of the baggage often causes passenger frustration and delays in flights.
Not every customer is happy with AIIA’s cargo service, as mostly PIA’s cargo is used for
Still, old mode of transportation is being used, and the need of hour is to expand its
services and technology, to make cargo import and export efficient, and modern.
Although, the cargo system is quite efficient, however, sometimes human error occurs
Due to old technology and software, lots of documents and clearance certificates, it has
Custom duties are not monitored effectively. Sometimes, customers are over-charged due
to manual transactions.
All the cargo is monitored, as there are tracking numbers available, however, the African
Region is controlled by private airlines and it needs to tap into that region too.
Real-time cargo tracking is missing, as there were many incidents reported about missing
cargo and luggage. In such cases, customers lodge a complaint and companies has to
concern cargo contribute to the concerns that can help us remove these obstacles to fostering
productive import and export management and the management of cargo on the AIIA Lahore.
The following are the recommendations for the findings mentioned above:
Manual daily flight data entry should be checked cross-checked to eliminate baggage
In order to avoid such failures, the system should be changed from manually to
automatically.
A new technology is required to change the baggage screening system, so that there is no
There should be different programs and seminars to offer pressure preparation so that the
African Region should be targeted for more imports and exports, besides leaving it up to
privatized airlines.
