Introduction

According to Skilbeck (1984), a curriculum is a framework for the enhancement and


organization of the varied and numerous experiences of students in a school setting and
beyond the school. A curriculum is modified and modified by curriculum expertise after they
have conducted a curriculum evaluation. Curriculum evaluation will determine the current state
of the curriculum, whether it is useful or necessary to change because it is no longer in line with
the current knowledge that students should acquire and learn as a result of widespread
changes in the level and needs of society.A very important role is to play the role of curriculum
evaluators which depends on their academic investigation and analysis whether a curriculum
currently used in the education system can be maintained or it needs to be replaced. But not
only is it so easy to investigate and analyze a currently used curriculum but even the
development of a new curriculum tailored to the needs of the student and the society is also
very complicated in its process.

Rogers and Taylor (1998), define a curriculum as all the learning that is planned and guided
by training or teaching organizations. The development of a new curriculum in line with the
changing knowledge and proficiency needs of the students goes through an earnest process of
taking improved steps to ensure that the expectations that students should learn in the allotted
study period will not be failed as stated in the developed curriculum.The curriculum has
effectively undergone testing by curriculum experts to ensure its quality for students which also
includes systematic steps to be successfully deployed and implemented in schools.

Importance of Curriculum Revision


A curriculum is modified and updated after it has undergone rigorous scrutiny and its
analysis of the current results also using a sufficient number of students to be subjected to the
study. After the curriculum revision, the identified results will dictate to the experts whether it
should be revised. According to Taylor Institute for teaching and learning (2022), curriculum
review is a critical examination of academic programs for the purpose of optimizing student
learning experiences led collaboratively by academic staff who teach within the program.
Curriculum changes are made when reviews gathered in previous studies have found that it
needs to undergo a re-revision. Curriculum experts play an important role in curriculum revision
in order to provide the up-to-date knowledge and skills that students should acquire and learn
within the allotted study period. It is important to keep the level of learning and proficiency of
students in line with the changing society. As a result, students need to keep pace so that they
can keep pace and adapt themselves to these changes in society. Students need modern
knowledge and skills in line with the changes taking place in society in conjunction with
modernization, globalization and change that require knowledge that students can learn that
comes with the revised curriculum.
