Paper 1 consists of the following components:

For section A: Pupils need to go over all the work covered this year. They should read through the
articles we have read in class and ensure that they know all key vocabulary. The topics we have
covered are:

For Section B: Pupils will be required to write short essays or paragraphs in which they respond to

Paper 2 is the writing paper and consists of the following sections:


Section A: Essay 30 marks
Section B: Writing transactional texts / formulation of information
(sms, notes, announcements, dialogues, monologues etc) 30 marks
Section C: Reformulation of information (Persuasive texts, report, e-mail, pictures etc)
40 marks.
Total: 100 marks.

For this exam, pupils should ensure that they are familiar with all the materials mentioned above
for Section A in Paper 1 as the writing tasks are all related to these same topics. In addition, pupils
should be able to write dialogues (‫ )דיאלוגים‬based on the dialogues we have studied so far this
year:

Pupils should also ensure that they are able to write a persuasive paragraph (‫ )קטע שכנוע‬using
persuasive vocabulary), and a report.(‫( )קטע דווח‬a prose piece based on point form information).
They may also be required, for example, to reformulate information from a graph into a piece of
prose, from a picture into a dialogue, from a dialogue into another genre etc.(‫)מתמונה לדיאלוג מורכב‬

In both papers, marks are allocated for gramma ( ‫ ) לשון‬, spelling ( ‫ ) שגיאות כתיב‬and
vocabulary ( ‫) אוצר מילים‬, as well as structure (for example, whether the passage is cohesive,
whether there is a good introduction, body and conclusion, whether the paragraphs are linked
together logically using conjunctive vocabulary such as “in addition to that”, “ Despite this….” Etc.

General information:
● The November examination consists of one examination of three hours in length.
● The paper will consist of six questions.
● Candidates are required to answer one essay question and one source-based
question. They have a choice of the third question to be either a source-based or
essay question.
