Opening the Debate

Resh:
“Good morning, respected judges, esteemed participants, and dear audience. I,
Resh V.D., alongside my co-host Vineta, am honored to welcome you all to
today’s debate on the topic: ‘Education as a Tool for Women Empowerment.’

This topic is of immense significance, as it addresses not just the progress of

women but also the development of society at large. Today, we will hear
diverse perspectives, arguments, and ideas that will deepen our understanding of
this critical issue.”

Vineta:
“The format of today’s debate is as follows: Each team will present their
arguments in three minutes, followed by rebuttals. Teams are reminded to
adhere to the time limits, maintain decorum, and present their points
respectfully. Our judges will assess based on clarity, logic, and effectiveness of
the arguments.

Now, let’s introduce our teams. Speaking for the motion, we have [Team A's
name], who will argue that education is indeed the most effective tool for
empowering women. Speaking against the motion, we have [Team B's name],
who will highlight the challenges that extend beyond education.

Let’s give a round of applause to both teams as we begin!”

II. Moderating the Debate

Resh:
“We now invite Team A, speaking for the motion, to present their arguments.
Team A, you have three minutes.”

(After their speech, you say:)

“Thank you, Team A. That was a compelling start to the debate. Now, we invite
Team B, speaking against the motion, to present their arguments. Team B, your
three minutes begin now.”

Vineta:
(After Team B finishes:)
“Thank you, Team B, for presenting your perspective. We now open the floor
for rebuttals. Team A, you may respond to Team B’s arguments. Please keep
your rebuttals within two minutes.”
(Once rebuttals from both sides are done:)
“Thank you to both teams for your insightful rebuttals. We will now proceed to
the second round of arguments.”

III. Transition Between Rounds

Resh:
“We’ll now move to the second round, where teams can elaborate on their
arguments or counter additional points raised by their opponents. Team A,
please begin.”

(Alternate between Team A and Team B, following the same moderation

pattern as above.)

Vineta:
“With both rounds completed, we now come to the concluding segment of
today’s debate. Let us summarize and close this discussion.”

IV. Concluding the Debate

Resh:
“Today, we’ve heard strong arguments from both sides. Team A highlighted
how education is foundational to empowerment, improving decision-making,
breaking stereotypes, and fostering independence. On the other hand, Team B
emphasized the challenges women face beyond education, including structural
barriers and societal resistance.”

Vineta:
“We thank both teams for their spirited arguments, the judges for their time and
expertise, and the audience for their attention and enthusiasm. Debates like
these remind us of the power of dialogue to bring diverse ideas to light.”

Both:
“With this, we conclude today’s debate. May the best team win! Thank you!”
