Teaching dates and October 2024 Quarter II
time 7:30-9:30, 9:30-11:30,12:30 - 2:30pm

At the end of the lesson the student will be able to:

I. Objectives (1) Identify and recognize sampling, sampling plan, designs and techniques
(2) Value the importance of sampling procedure and the sample
(3) Demonstrate sampling procedure
The learner demonstrates understanding of:
A. Content Standards 1. quantitative research designs
2. description of sample
3. instrument development
4. description of intervention (if applicable)
5. data collection and analysis procedures such as survey, interview, and observation
6. guidelines in writing research methodology
The learner is able to:
B. Performance Standards Describe adequately quantitative research designs, sample, instrument used, intervention (if applicable), data collection, and analysis
procedures.
C. Learning Competencies/ Describes sampling procedure and the sample
Objectives write the LC code CS_RS12-IIa-c-2
for each
II. Subject Matter
a. Topic Describes sampling procedure and the sample
b. References curriculum guide, CS_RS12-IIa-c-2
c. Time allotment 2 hours
d. Instructional material Practical Research 2 Book by Lori Mar Publishing, Powerpoint Presentation, Laptop, DLP projector, Manila Paper and Pen
III. Procedures
A. Review Connect the lesson with learner’s prior knowledge. Ask the learner the different types of quantitative research can you give a brief
definition and their purposes.
B. Motivation The teacher will ask the students:
“What is a Survey and Why do we use Sampling (rather than full
enumeration)?
(Explain the reasons why we resort to sampling and Identify different sampling technique)
C. Activity Research Respondents Activity: “Identify sample and solve for the sample size”
1. The students will be group into six (6).
2. The teacher will give different research title and the students will identify the respondents of the research study.
3. After identifying the respondents, the students will solve for the sample size using Slovin’s Formula.
4. The students will be given 20 minutes to solve for the sample size.
5. After identifying and solving for sample size, the students will present their output in the class.
D. Analysis Main Questions: 1) Why is their a need for us to identify the research respondents of the study? 2) Why we need to do sampling?
3) What is the importance of sampling design, plan and techniques?

E. Abstraction The teacher will discuss sampling, sampling plans, and techniques. Explain the following steps involved in developing a sampling plan.
And the issues needs to consider in crafting/formulating sampling plan.

Generalization: Let the student formulate a simple steps in composing a sampling plan.
F. Application Every group will formulate a sampling plan for their research study. They will identify the research respondents of their study, the sample
size and the sampling techniques that they will apply on their research proposal.
IV. Assessment
a. Diagnostic
b. Formative Short assessment of their understanding. (Oral questioning)
V. Assignment
Prepare your research paper for checking. (Chapter 2-Methodology, Research Design and Rsearch Respondents)
