Course Description:
The course is a four 4-unit subject offered to students taking up bachelor of science in criminology the deals with the study of firearm identification with the use of
scientific laboratory equipment. The subjects give emphasis on laboratory. The use of rounds projectiles (bullet, slug, shots or balls, guns powdered premier and other explosive. It
includes also the principle in the examination of proceeding of evidence and the solution of case involving firearms
Course Objectives:
At the end of this course, the students are expected to:
 Explain the importance of forensic ballistics in the field of law enforcement in our country
 Distinguish the different type kinds make and classification of firearms
 Name the pioneers on the discovery of firearms including their respective contribution
 Classify different types of ammunition explosive and its components
 Compare the class and Indi dual characteristics of firearm
 Demonstrate the use of the various laboratory equipment in the examination of firearm
 Prepare repots and present ballistics exhibits during court proceedings
