Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan in Science 1

Integration in Arts and ESP

I. Objectives:
A. Content Standards:
The learners demonstrate understanding that weather changes
from day to day
and how weather affect’s people daily lives.

B. Performance Standards
The learners plan activities that can be done indoors or outdoors
depending
on the weather condition.

C. Learning Objectives:
 Identify activities done during the certain weather conditions.
 List down activities done during sunny day, rainy day, cloudy
day, windy day and stormy day.
 Appreciate the importance of weather conditions.

II. Content/Subject Matter:

The Weather and What We Do


 Classifying activities in a certain weather condition.

IV. Procedure:

A. Engage (5 minutes)
(Show a video presentation about the weather entitled “I love the
weather” I Love to Learn” ask questions about what they observe).

Guide Questions:
1. What have you notice about the video?
2. What can you say about it?
3. What are the activities in the video?

B. Discussing New Concept and Practicing New Skill (Explore) (10


minutes)
 Divide the class into four (3) groups.
 Recall standards for group activity.
 Showing of rubric

Group 1 (Sunny day)


Procedure:
 Arrange the puzzled picture of the weather. Paste
and Write the activities in the picture on the given
tarp paper.

Group 2 (Cloudy day and Windy day)


Procedure:
 Write the activities that can be done during cloudy
day on the given pictures and color them.

Group 3 (Rainy and Stormy day)


Procedure:
 List down the activities that you can do during rainy and
stormy day. Sing the song Rain, Rain Go Away song
before presenting.

C. Developing Mastery (Explain) (5 minutes)


The teacher will give emphasis on concepts missed by the pupils and give
feedback on their performance.

 What are the activities that we can do during sunny day?


During rainy day?
 During windy day? During cloudy day? During stormy day?
 Do we go outside during stormy day? Why?
 Can we dry our clothes during rainy day? Why?

D. Finding practical applications of concepts and skills in daily living (Elaborate)


(10 minutes)

Study the pictures. (power point presentation)


Recall the activities on the following weather condition shown in each
picture.
 From those pictures, when should we not play outside?
Why?
 If you want to play a kite but suddenly it rains. Will you be
angry? Why?
 Do you drink a coffee if the weather is too hot? Why?
 What weather should we go flying a kite? How about
reading a book?
 How important to know the weather conditions?

E. Evaluating Learning (Evaluate) (15 minutes)

Directions: Write S if the picture shows activities that can be


done during a Sunny day, R if it is for rainy day, W if it is Windy day, C if it is
for cloudy day, and ST if it is stormy.
