I. OBJECTIVES
MELCS:
Distinguish opinion from truth. PPT11/12-lc-2.1
Content Standard:
1. The learner demonstrates various ways of doing philosophy
Performance Standard:
The learner evaluates opinion.
Specific Objectives:

At the end of the lesson the students are expected to:

a. Differentiate opinions from truth using Venn Diagram; and


b. Evaluate truth from opinions in different situations using the methods of philosophizing.

D. Activity
The teacher will present the instruction for the activity to be answered on the board.
Directions: Mark “PUFF” if the statement is true and “BLUFF” if the statement is not true.
1. Marian Rivera is the most beautiful actress in the industry.
2. Ferdinand Marcos is the current president of the Philippines.
3. HUMSS strand is the best strand in Senior High School.
4. Math is the most difficult subject.
5. Ma’am Zhaipha M. Ontong is the new School Head of our School.
E. Analysis
The teacher will raise some HOTS questions.
1. What did you notice the difference between the truth and opinion statements?
2. What are the significant features you in the statements that make it opinion of makes it a fact?

F. Abstraction (PROPEL INTEGRATION)


The teacher will present the lesson about Truth vs. Opinion. Let the students read and share what they
understood from what they read then later the teacher will give a follow up discussion or clarification
regarding the topic.

G. Application
The teacher will group the class into two. They will be given 1 minute to write statements about truth
and opinion as much as they can. Then their output will be evaluated right after they presented it.

IV. EVALUATION
Directions: Using the Venn diagram below, write the differences between opinion from truth.
