Lesson Title: Installation of 3 Bulb Controlled by 3 Gang Switch

This document provides the lesson plan for installing 3 bulbs controlled by a 3 gang switch. The objectives are to make a schematic diagram, identify required materials, and demonstrate the installation. Students will be divided into groups to draw diagrams, list materials, and complete the circuit on a wiring board. The proper procedure for installation includes designing a diagram, preparing materials, running conduits, determining outlet counts, drilling holes, setting the breaker, pulling wires, and installing circuits. Students will then arrange the installation steps in order and define a 3-way switch.

Lesson Title: Installation of 3 Bulb Controlled by 3 Gang Switch

I. Objectives:

At the end of lesson, the students are expected to:

1. Make a Schematic Diagram
2. Identify Electrical Materials to be used for installation
3. Demonstrate Installation of 3 Bulb controlled by 3 Gang Switch

II. Learning Content:

Topic: Install Electrical Metallic Tubing
LC: Installation of 3 Bulb Controlled by 3 Gang Switch
Code: TLE_IAEI9-12RC-IIa-j-1
Reference: CG’s, Lesson from Internet, EIM Manual, http://youtube.com/watch?
v=lpYZ39OtLC8
Materials: Laptop, TV, Multi Tester, Visual Aid, Projector, Wiring board,

III. Learning Task

A. Preliminary Activities
1. Prayer
2. Greetings
3. Checking of the Attendance
4. Setting of Standards
 The teacher will give the rules and regulations before the class discussions.

B. Motivation: The Teacher will give situation:

Situation: Mr. Garcia want his master bedroom to have a 3 bulb in different
Location controlled with 3 single pole single throw switch (SPST) in one
location, so he decided to
hire a registered electrician for the job.
Teacher will ask the students what will be the topic?
Students: 3 Bulbs controlled by 3 single pole switch

Topic: “3 BULBS CONTROLLED BY 3 SINGLE POLE SWITCH”

C. Lesson Proper:
A. Activity # 1:
“Draw or Post it me baby!"
The class will be divided in 3 groups. Each group will Make a
schematic diagram in Manila paper on 3 bulb controlled by 3 Gang Switch
base on the situation given. The group has 10 mins to make the task. After
that it will be posted on the board.
Activity # 2
“Name me please!”
Base on the situation given each group will identify what are the
materials needed for the installation. Each group will be given 2 minutes to
collaborate their answer to be posted on the board.

B. Analysis: (HOTS Questions)

1. What did you do to come out with a good result?
2. What will happen if you do not know what materials to be used on
the said situation?
3. Why do you need to know how to interpret and make a schematic
diagram?
4. Is it a need to observe safety precaution?
5. What will happen to you if you will not follow the proper
procedure of installation?

C. Abstractions:
The teacher will ask the following:
1. What are the materials needed?

a. circuit breaker is an automatically

operated electrical switch designed to protect
an electrical circuit from damage caused by excess
current from an overload or short circuit.

b. junction box a box containing a junction of electric wires or cables.

c. A switch pole refers to the number of separate circuits that

the switch controls. A single-pole switch controls just one circuit.

d. electrical utility box is typically a rectangular,

open- faced box mounted in a wall.

e. polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is similar to plastic plumbing pipe and

is installed with plastic fittings that are glued in place

f. Lamp Holder/Receptacle a device for

securing a lamp to its support; specifically, a
socket or holder fitted with electric terminals,
into which the top of the glass globe of an
incandescent lamp is fitted, or from which it
hangs.

2. What are the procedure on how to install the 3 bulb controlled by 3 Gang Switch?

The following are the proper steps on how to install house wiring.

1. Design a schematic /wiring diagram

Design a wiring diagram which shows the location of the breaker box and the path of the wires to
each outlet.
2. Make a list for all the Materials, Tools and Equipment Need for the Job.
Write all the Materials, Tools and Equipment’s need for in installation to have smooth and
organized work place
3. Install conduits
Start by running the longest wires first to avoid wastage conduits in walls even if you don’t
anticipate using them right away. Start each wire upstairs and pull it through to the basement. This
way, you do not use a ladder to push the wire up between floors.
You should also leave at least one foot of extra wire at each end just in case you need to move
things around later.
4. Know outlet, junction, utility count,
Determine how many outlets and switches will run on one circuit. Normally, six to eight outlets per
a 220-voltage circuit is advisable in a living area, while as few as two per circuit are the standard in
a kitchen, where appliances use more wattage.
5. Drill wire holes
Before drilling any holes, make sure you know what is on the other side of the wall/floor to avoid
drilling through any electrical wires, ductwork, or water pipes. Proceed by drilling holes with a 1-
inch bit in the middle of the studs where your wires will travel. The more outlets you have, the
safer your home.
6. Set a breaker
Set your breaker box where you can easily access it in the future. A location in a basement or a
utility room is desirable.
7. Pull the wires to the outlets
Place the roll of wire next to the breaker box and pull the wire according to your diagram to the
closest outlet or switch for each circuit. You can also run the wires straight through the box. Any
wires sticking out of the box may just get dry walled over or could get cut from the electrical box.
Use wire strippers to remove the outer plastic coating from the ends of the wires and attach them,
according to the instructions on the box, at each outlet, fixture or switch.
8. Install the circuits
Install individual circuits for each wiring set. The circuits must match the amperage of the wire and
the intended purpose of the outlet.

D. Application:
Activity # 3 “Let’s do it Right”
Same group each group will be given a wiring board with
electrical accessories wherein they will complete the circuit of 3 Bulb
controlled by 3 Gang Switch. You may use all necessary tools and
equipment’s to perform the Job. You are given 15 mins to finish the Activity.
Assigned two members in each group that will observe and write the
procedures they made and will do the report.
