1. Three sets of English, Hindi and Mathematics books have to be stacked in such a way that all the
books are stored topic wise and the height of each stack is the same. The number of English books is
96, the number of Hindi books is 240 and the number of Mathematics books is 336. Assuming that the
books are of the same thickness, determine the number of stacks of English, Hindi and Mathematics
books.
2. There is a circular path around a sports field. Priya takes 18 minutes to drive one round of the field,
while Ravish takes 12 minutes for the same. Suppose they both start at the same point and at the same
time, and go in the same direction. After how many minutes will they meet again at the starting point?

3. Prove that root √5 is an irrational Number.

24. A man walks a certain distance with certain speed. If he walks 1/2 km an hour faster, he takes 1

25. Anuj travels 600 km partly by train and partly by car. If he covers 400 km by train and the rest by
car, it takes him 6 hours and 30 minutes. But, if the travels 200 km by train and the rest by car, he takes
half an hour longer. Find the speed of the train and that of the car.

26.A boat goes 12 km upstream and 40 km downstream in 8 hours. It can go 16 km upstream and 32
km downstream in the same time. Find the speed of the boat in still water and the speed of the stream.

27. Hadi travelled 300 km by train and 200 km by taxi, it took him 5 hours 30 minutes. But if he travels
260 km by train and 240 km by taxi he takes 6 minutes longer. Find the speed of the train and that of

Q1. A 50cm tall object is placed on the principal axis of a lens. Its 20cm tall image is formed on the
screen placed at a distance of 10cm from the lens. Calculate the focal length of the lens.

About SEWA philosophy
SEWA is all about social or community service, it can include environmental, civic responsibilities or
democracy or health and fitness, as long as the project is able to connect the child to his surroundings
or to a cause , and is able to generate sense of responsibility towards it . The social empowerment
refers to the concept of service to the community.
Note: Each student will submit an individual file of the work she/he has done during the break.
File must be handwritten by each student. Exception will be made only for any tabular
representations and photographs print pages.
