1. Is classroom management important? Why? Why not?

Classroom management can help provide a positive environment for students to


learn and teachers to teach. Overall, this can mean fewer disruptions and less class
time spent addressing behavior management issues. Classroom management is
important because it directly effects student’s ability to learn. A well-managed
classroom highly impacts students' academic success.

2. How does classroom management affect students?

Classroom management affect students in the sense that it creates an ideal


environment for learning. This is important for teacher and student safety,
happiness, and productivity. The climate of a classroom has a strong influence on a
child's ability to learn. Environments that are over- or under-stimulating can affect
a child's ability to focus and to learn.

3. How does classroom management affect teachers?

Teachers consider students’ behavior management as one of the top stressors in


their profession. A successful classroom management system will help prevent teacher
burnout and reduce the need for yelling, scolding or other stressful discipline
methods that cause friction between teacher and student. This kind of environment
enhances learning, as well as social/emotional development.

1. How do you manage your class?

I manage my class by preparing and managing time tactfully. Preparation


means not only having a lesson plan ready, but also ensuring that the teaching
materials and aids are in place and classroom is well prepared for the lesson.

2. What is the greatest challenge that you have encountered so far in terms of classroom management?

Classroom management is one of the most contributing yet challenging issues


in a teaching career. In a language-learning classroom where foreign language is used
as both the medium and the content of the teaching, I experienced unique classroom
management challenge, and this is monolingual classes. They tend to speak more of
their mother tongue among themselves and less English. Even I enforced the “English
only” rule and some creative ways like offering incentives or rewards, as a way of
helping them achieve their goal of speaking as much English as they can.

3. What do you think are essential considerations in managing the class?

The essential considerations in managing the class are developing effective


working relationships with students, training students on how learning takes place in
my classroom and establishing standards of behavior that promote student learning.

1. How did you choose the classroom management strategies that you have implemented?

The first thing I consider is how they will participate in class


discussion expressing their thoughts in English and I want my students to
behave and model these behaviors as the classroom teacher. It’s important to
remain objective, avoiding favoring students within my classroom. By being
fair and treating all my students equally.

2. What prompted you to use this/these strategy/strategies?

I used these strategies because these are for me very effective and the best
way to address the challenges I met when I conduct my class.

3. What are the challenges and problems you encountered while choosing the most effective strategy
for managing your class?

It is on the implementation process which I consider the most


challenging.

4. What is the most essential consideration that you need to effectively manage the class?

That at all times, I am consistent in all my actions, demands, and expectations.


Believing that effective classroom management encourages my students to engage in
learning, and work towards positive learning outcomes.
