Upright Row on Indo Board

Why will this improve my surfing?

It will strengthen muscle groups using in paddle power.

What does it target?

Back of the shoulders and smaller muscle groups that support the shoulder blades, and support movement.

Technique

While on the indo board stand with soft knees, slowly bring your elbows upwards and as you do squeeze your shoulder blades together.

Try 5 reps before resting and use a light weight.

To gain strength and endurance for surfing use light weights and aim for high reps.

Remember: It's important to warm up before you start. Warm up with 6-8 minutes mobility. Stay within you comfort zone.

Good stuff, I hope this will be a regular feature. Perhaps you could put together a whole exercise section.

Isn't that a bent over row rather than an upright row?

It's upright because of the standing position. A regular row is done from a seated position (rowing a boat)
