Barangay San Pedro computerized System developed by Ralph Angelo Facundo is a system that reduced
the hard and longtime procedure of accessing files and records it kept the system was also census-like
system of the barangay for all its constituents and new people to live in the place the system was
effective maintaining, searching and storing records of all the residents in the Barangay. This also
included the issuance of clearance. This helped the worker save time on searching files and records they
need
The literature above discuss that the system developed by Ralph Angelo Facundo that having an
computerized system demonstrates how digital streamlined record keeping, improved the efficiency,
and facilitate data management in a barangay. This literature is relevant to the present study because
both provide record keeping process, save time, and improved efficiency in a barangay.
According to Teresita T. Villones The Barangay currently used a manual process in issuing Barangay
Certificates, Business Permit, Summon Letter, etc. This caused a lengthy procedure in accessing the
records
and files, which sometimes cause record redundancy. The study's objective was to design and develop a
Barangay Constituents Information and Services Management System to improve record retrieval in the
Barangay. The general objective of the study was to develop and design a Barangay Constituents
Information and
services Management System for the improvement of record retrieval in the barangay. Specifically, it
aimed to
achieve the following: 1. Design and develop a BCISMS for the following features: searching barangay
records,
managing health records, generating barangay reports, and graphical analysis of barangay census.
Similar to our research the study that conducted by Villones (2021) aimed to address the challenges in
record within the barangay. the system was designed the efficiency and accuracy of managing various
type of record including Barangay certificates, business permits, summon letters, and more.
In a similar vein, our research on the residential information management system for Barangay also aims
to achieve these goals by developing a system that streamlines record management, promotes data
accuracy, and facilitates efficient data retrieval, all of which are critical components of effective
barangay administration.
The online information system for barangay langka that has been developed by termulo, Margen A. Del
Cruz, Christian B. and Anastacio, Christian C. helped the residents in getting information and processing
documentations such as barangay clearance, barangay business permit and indigency certificate.
The The Barangay Langka's digital info system, created by Termulo and others, It shows how going
digital can make record-keeping easier, save time, and boost efficiency in a barangay. The study is
related to the present study because it ties into our study's focus on efficient record-keeping, time
savings, and improved efficiency.
The “The Barangay Management System” has been developed by the interpoint Consultancy and
Network System Inc. that facilitates barangay management by enabling the clients of barangay to
maintain their complete and up-to-date residents records as possible and as easily accessible for
verification, Monitoring, and reference purposed based on the available residents census date kept by
the barangay officials or officers. The data provided by this system is comprehensive. Reports are
invaluable for planning program implementation and related purpose.
The above study is related to the present study in terms of maintaining the complete residents record
and update and for monitoring the resident’s data and for other purposes.
According to the study of Rosalinda C. Celeste from national convention entitled (NCS) Residents
Barangay Information. It aims to organize the local barangay information into a media where the
information becomes readily available and accessible upon the demands or request. Since local
information cannot just be acquired anywhere the need to build the information in the electronic
format is required it also to improve sectorial planning and policy formulation at local level through the
establishment of a barangay database information system specifically in Region 10. Aside from system
development the project will also include data generation using household level data and the use of
information from assessment and the monitoring reports inline agencies in the region. Having an
organized data or information can help the barangay officials to provide the concerns of their residents.
It allows that every barangay must have an information system wherein the present information is
accessible for the next generation
The literature above is related to our study because its highlights the importance of organizing local
barangay information readily available and accessible which is directly related to our study just like the
project discussed. Our aim is to develop a system that organize and manages residential information in a
barangay making it easily accessible for the benefit of both barangay officials and residents
Foreign
According to Noqi, using a manual Information System is time consuming. A lot of paper works and
much space to keep the data. There is also a chance of man-made error and possibility of duplications of
data or there is lack of proofreading tools unlike in computer software’s such as Microsoft Access in
addition, only one person can access the data at a time while with Computerized Information System,
many people can access the same data through networking.
The presented literature is related to our present study. It highlights the limitation and drawback of
using Manual information system, such as time consuming process and the potential for errors and
duplication. This literature is relevant because it underscores the need for a more efficient and
accessible system, which align to the objective into our study in proposing and improved residential
information management system for the barangay.
According to UKESSAYS, most Information system are composed of normalized procedures that
guarantee or provide important information. The system provides data and information to users for
them to take accessible resolution which are effective standpoint. The data storage, collection, nd
communication, data retrieval and application are the conclusion of an effective combination of human
and technology from management information system. In managerial operations and business planning,
the MIS system play a very important role in business success. The specialized system that are used for
resolution and include decision making for the management at all levels are generally known as
management information system. The information system are important in any type of organization,
generally because it is really impossible for any organization to operate without any sort of information
system. The Information System are developed to focus on the needs and requirements of the particular
organization which are unique for every other organization.
This literature is closely related to our present study because it underscores the significance of efficient
information systems for accessing and transmitting data seamlessly. In our study, we aim to develop a
system that, like MIS, can store, collect, and retrieve data effectively . The challenges and benefits
discussed in the literature parallel the objectives of our research, emphasizing the importance of a
tailored residential information management system for improved barangay operations.
According to Yuganthi Jayasinghe, there are some disadvantages of having a manual system. One
problem is associated with training and advising people to be disciplined enough to maintain the
maintenance system, for example is to write the data into the system, report acquisition problems,
summarizing data and writing reports which take lot of time. Some of the other problem associated with
the manual process is data duplication of security, in consistency of data, repetition of work, too much
paper works, space consuming, and slow retrieval of data.
this literature is related to the present study because it explains the disadvantages of having a manual
system, as our aim here is to developed a system that will overcome all this possible problem.
Massachusetts Institute of technology gave emphasis that Students Information System (SIS) provides
student with access to their academic and biographic records as well as the ability to update their
address information and pre-register for classes. It provides instructors and departments administrators
with class list information and provide advisors and departments with access to the individual academic
records of their students therefore (SIS) is an integrated approach in acquiring storing, analyzing and
controlling the flow of student’s data throughout the institutions. Highly developed SIS can be useful in
nearly all institutional department function and can greatly increase efficiency and response times of
traditional labor and the intense processing of student data.
the above literature is related to the present study because it emphasize the importance of an
integrated system for acquiring, storing, and managing student data, which is similar to the need for an
efficient system to manage residential information in a barangay. both systems focus on data
management and improving efficiency, although in different contexts.
According to David Michael The use of traditional paperwork in property management may lead to
security vulnerabilities, potentially resulting in the exposure of sensitive information and details.
Conventional paper-based methods offer limited access control, making sensitive information
susceptible to unauthorized access. In contrast, property management systems equipped with digital
security features enable property managers to maintain the confidentiality of data. These systems allow
the installation of access controls and encryption, ensuring that only authorized personnel can access
sensitive information related to property management. This capability offers an enhanced level of
privacy and data security, assuring tenants and stakeholders that their information is protected.
The literature above is related to our study because it emphasizes the significance of using digital
systems, like the one we are proposing, to enhance data security, access control, and privacy in property
management. These principles of data security, access control, and privacy are pertinent to any system
dealing with sensitive information, including our proposed residential information management system
for the barangay.
